What items should be checked during the sixth month of pregnancy

Nowadays, fewer and fewer couples do prenatal check-ups before getting married, so prenatal check-ups are very important. Checkups before, during and after pregnancy are mainly done to avoid giving birth to a child with a congenital disease or congenital malformation. There are many examinations to be done during pregnancy. In addition to B-ultrasound monitoring, there are some different examination items that need to be done at different times of pregnancy. The following are some items to check during the 6th month of pregnancy.

The 6-month prenatal check-up is mainly to understand the growth and development of the fetus, and to screen for malformations (i.e. Down syndrome) and special diseases such as diabetes, hepatitis B, syphilis, AIDS, etc. The most important is gestational diabetes. Screening for Cholestasis of Pregnancy Most screening tests for gestational diabetes and cholestasis of pregnancy are done during the 24th week of pregnancy. The doctor will draw a sample of the expectant mother's blood for a screening test. If you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes, you must control it through diet and insulin injections. Do not use oral hypoglycemic drugs to avoid affecting the fetus. If bile acid levels are elevated, it is cholestasis of pregnancy and monitoring and medication are required until postpartum. Some even have to terminate the pregnancy early. Anemia and calcium deficiency are more likely to occur after the middle stage, so you should eat more iron-containing foods to supplement iron and calcium.

A pregnant mother who is 6 months pregnant is already in the middle stage of pregnancy. During this period, the fetus has basically taken shape. It is very difficult for the pregnant mother, but in order to continue to ensure the healthy development of the fetus, prenatal examinations must continue. Pregnant mothers should pay attention to diet and do proper exercise to provide good growth conditions for their babies.
