What causes vaginal redness and itching?

Because people's life concepts have changed, some young girls start sexual life too early, which puts a lot of pressure on the reproductive organs. Moreover, if they do not pay attention to maintaining vaginal hygiene in daily life, it is easy to have symptoms of vaginal redness and itching. This symptom is common among most adult women. So what causes vaginal redness and itching?

Vulvar pruritus is a skin disease related to sensory nerve dysfunction. Paying attention to local hygiene is an important way to prevent this disease.

People suffering from vulvar pruritus will feel itching in the vulva. In severe cases, they will be restless day and night, which will affect their work and life, and therefore be very painful. This disease often occurs in women over 45 years old.

The skin of the vulva is rich in nerve endings and is very sensitive, so even a small stimulus can cause severe itching of the vulva. From a local perspective, lack of attention to hygiene and suffering from female skin diseases, vaginitis and cervicitis; allergic reactions and chemical reactions caused by drugs such as flushing the vulva and intravaginal medication; stimulation from urine (especially diabetes) and intestinal parasites (especially burn worms) can all cause vulvar itching. From the perspective of systemic factors, diabetes, jaundice, vitamin A and riboflavin deficiency, chronic constipation, decreased estrogen levels after menopause, reduced vaginal secretions, and vulvar dryness can also cause itching.

The itching of the vulva is sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and it often worsens at night. It is mostly located near the clitoris and labia minora. In severe cases, it will spread to the entire vulva and around the anus. Due to long-term itching, the skin of the vulva will become thicker due to friction and become over-keratinized and grayish white. Frequent scratching may also cause skin damage, leading to secondary infection.

Prevention and precautions:

Pay attention to treating the primary disease, keep the vulva clean and dry, and do not wash it too frequently with soap. Avoid scratching, alcohol and spicy food.

Avoid scratching, rubbing or washing with hot water.

Appropriate use of sedatives, safety drugs, and antihistamines can adjust mood, reduce anxiety and tension, and relieve itching.

Use topical antipruritic medication.

To sum up, for the treatment of vaginal redness and itching, you should pay attention to personal hygiene during menstruation and keep your vagina dry and clean at all times. Even if you feel any abnormal sensation in your vagina, do not scratch it with your hands or rinse it with hot water. You should also be careful when choosing underwear. Make sure to wear breathable and comfortable underwear. Don't choose sexy but unhealthy underwear just to be vain.
