What are the symptoms of abnormal vaginal discharge cleanliness?

A healthy body is very important for women, but many women are always troubled by some gynecological diseases in their daily lives. If gynecological diseases are not treated in time, they are particularly prone to cause lesions. Many gynecological diseases even affect fertility. Among them, abnormal leucorrhea will affect women's health, but many women do not know when they need to check their leucorrhea. Let's take a look at the symptoms of abnormal leucorrhea cleanliness.

What are the symptoms of abnormal vaginal discharge cleanliness?

Leucorrhea is a sticky white liquid that flows out of the vagina of women. It is a mixture of secretions from the Bartholin's glands, cervical glands, endometrium, exudate from the vaginal mucosa, and desquamated vaginal epithelial cells. Leucorrhea contains lactobacillus, lysozyme and antibodies, so it has the effect of inhibiting bacterial growth. During sexual intercourse, the amount of leucorrhea will increase, which will lubricate the vagina and facilitate sexual intercourse. Generally, the amount of leucorrhea increases during the middle of the menstrual period and becomes thin and transparent; after ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes thick, turbid and less in quantity. There is an increase in leucorrhea before menstruation and during pregnancy.

Normal leucorrhea is white, sometimes transparent, sometimes sticky, and has no odor. If there are abnormal changes in the color, quality, and quantity of leucorrhea, it is called abnormal leucorrhea. Leucorrhea is a physiological phenomenon of women, and abnormal leucorrhea is a signal of female internal reproductive organ disease.

(1) White or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea: This is a characteristic of Trichomonas vaginitis and may be accompanied by vulvar pain and itching.

(2) Curd-like or tofu-like leucorrhea: a characteristic of candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar pain, itching or burning pain.

(3) Gray, homogeneous leucorrhea with a fishy smell: The smell becomes stronger after intercourse; it is common in bacterial vaginosis.

(4) Purulent leucorrhea: yellow or yellow-green in color, sticky and often smelly. It can be caused by acute vaginitis, cervicitis, and endocervicitis caused by bacteria such as Trichomonas or gonococci. Intrauterine pyometra, cervical malignancy, vaginal malignancy or foreign bodies retained in the vagina can also cause pus-like leucorrhea.

(5) Colorless, transparent, sticky leucorrhea: It is egg white-like and similar in nature to the mucus secreted by the cervical glands during ovulation, but the amount of secretion is significantly increased compared to normal. Generally, the possibility of chronic endocervicitis, ovarian dysfunction, vaginal adenosis, or well-differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma should be considered.

(6) Bloody leucorrhea: If there is blood mixed in the leucorrhea, cervical malignancy, endometrial cancer, cervical polyps or submucosal fibroids should be considered. Insertion of an intrauterine device can also cause bloody leucorrhea.

(7) Watery leucorrhea: Continuous discharge of watery leucorrhea that resembles rice washing water and is accompanied by a foul odor is usually due to advanced cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, or submucosal fibroids with infection. Intermittent discharge of yellow or red watery leucorrhea should be considered as a possible cause of fallopian tube cancer

The above is an introduction to the symptoms of abnormal leucorrhea cleanliness. After understanding it, we know that if abnormal leucorrhea occurs, we should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. Women must go to a regular specialist hospital for examination when abnormal leucorrhea occurs, and they must pay attention to maintaining good personal hygiene in daily life.
