Why is the leucorrhea a little yellow and has an odor?

Abnormal leucorrhea is always a major symptom that troubles women. Many women suffer from it. Some have problems with the color of their leucorrhea, some have a significantly increased amount of leucorrhea, some appear watery or tofu-dreg-like, and some are accompanied by severe odor, etc. Therefore, the editor has specially collected the reasons why leucorrhea turns yellow and has an odor, hoping to be helpful to people with this condition.

Cervical erosion will cause the vaginal discharge to turn yellow. Due to differences in pathogens and patient constitutions, changes in color, quality, properties, and odor may also occur. For example, the color may be yellow, light yellow, milky white, the texture may be sticky or purulent, etc. Therefore, female patients should not only take better care of their bodies, but also have a gynecological examination once a year.

Clinically, it is divided into simple, granular and papillary types according to the surface condition of the cervix. It is also divided into severe, moderate and mild degrees according to the ratio of the erosion area to the cervical surface.

Severe cervical erosion: If the lesions involve a deeper and larger area, the amount of leucorrhea will be larger, and occasionally it may contain a small amount of blood. Some patients may also experience contact bleeding. Moderate cervical erosion: If the cervical erosion is accompanied by obvious inflammatory infection, the leucorrhea will be yellow, purulent and sticky. If the erosion area is small or the lesion is shallow, the amount of leucorrhea may be less. Mild cervical erosion: if the erosion is mainly caused by columnar epithelial hyperplasia, the inflammation and infection are not obvious, and the leucorrhea is mainly transparent mucus.

Cervical erosion can cause infertility. When cervical erosion occurs, especially moderate or severe cervical erosion, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become thick in texture, and contain a large number of white blood cells. This will have an adverse effect on sperm motility, hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, and affect conception.

After reading the above introduction, it is estimated that many people have a deeper understanding of the yellow color and odor of leucorrhea. If this situation occurs, it is necessary to take timely measures. It should be noted that you must go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment and listen to the doctor. Personal hygiene is also very important.
