Is vaginal bleeding normal in early pregnancy?

If vaginal bleeding occurs in the early stages of pregnancy, you must pay special attention to it, because it is also a sign of a more serious condition. If you do not take it seriously at this time, it may lead to miscarriage, which is particularly serious. There are many reasons for vaginal bleeding. It is usually best to get a check-up. Let me tell you the causes of early miscarriage.

Women do not have menstruation during pregnancy (called amenorrhea) because after pregnancy, the corpus luteum in the ovary secretes a hormone called progesterone, which can thicken the endometrium and enrich the blood supply, just like fertile soil for seeds to develop and grow, and provide support for the embryo to develop and grow. This change is called decidual change, and the endometrium at this time is called decidualization. In addition, in order to absorb nutrients from the mother, part of the embryo's tissue goes deep into the decidua to form countless tiny branched hairs, so they are called villi, which later develop into the placenta. The endometrium is mainly maintained by the continuous secretion of progesterone by the corpus luteum of the ovary, and prevents the endometrium from shed and discharged on schedule every month (i.e. menstruation) as when there is no pregnancy, so menstruation stops.

If the amount of progesterone secreted in early pregnancy is insufficient or other reasons affect the development of the embryonic villi, the uterus will detach and bleed. When the separation bleeding is severe, the embryo will separate from the uterine wall and miscarriage will occur. Abortion refers to the death of the fetus in the uterine cavity or the inability to survive after being expelled from the mother's body before 20 weeks of pregnancy (i.e. 5 months of pregnancy). Generally, a fetus weighing less than 500 grams is called a miscarriage. When it occurs early in pregnancy, it is called an early miscarriage.

Therefore, if there is vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy, the first thing to consider is miscarriage. In addition, vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy may be caused by other reasons. For example, hydatidiform mole, atypical ectopic pregnancy, pregnancy complicated by severe cervical erosion or cervical polyps, and cervical cancer.

Through my introduction above, I believe you have understood the causes and dangers of vaginal bleeding, so you must pay attention to it in normal times. Early vaginal bleeding may lead to relatively serious consequences. You must also pay more attention to your diet and daily living habits.
