What to do if you have ovulation bleeding for several months in a row

I believe everyone knows the importance of the uterus to female friends. If there is a problem with the uterus of a female friend, it will not only cause pain to the female friend but also cause great psychological pressure to the female friend. Therefore, we recommend that the majority of female friends should pay attention to protecting their uterus in daily life. Some female friends may experience symptoms of uterine bleeding during ovulation for several consecutive months. Below we will introduce to you what to do if there is ovulation bleeding for several consecutive months.

Instrumental curettage

Many people have heard of the method of "curettage" to stop bleeding. Curettage is a minor operation that can be performed in an outpatient clinic, generally using local anesthesia. Under sterile conditions, the doctor inserts a small scraper into the uterine cavity to scrape it, using mechanical methods to quickly remove the proliferating endometrium, thereby achieving the purpose of stopping bleeding. Although this method is somewhat painful, it stops bleeding quickly, is safe, and the effect is generally reliable. More importantly, the scraped endometrium can be collected and sent to the pathology department for testing to determine whether there are other diseases such as polyps and tumors, which is of value in making a clear diagnosis. Therefore, for married patients with long-term irregular bleeding, especially those over 40 years old, curettage should be used to stop bleeding. However, if the patient has undergone curettage recently and pathological examination shows no organic disease, there is no need to repeat the curettage. Bleeding usually decreases immediately after curettage and stops completely within about a week. Generally you need to rest for about 7 days before going back to work.

Medical curettage

For unmarried patients, try not to consider curettage, or use medical curettage instead. Medical curettage is aimed at the pathophysiological changes caused by the lack of progesterone in patients with anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Progesterone is injected intramuscularly into the patient, 20 mg per day, for 3 days, and the endometrium is transformed into the secretory phase. The drug is then discontinued, causing an artificial drop in blood progesterone levels. At this time, the endometrium is regularly shed and bleeding occurs, which is called "withdrawal bleeding". This bleeding is similar to a menstrual period and lasts for about 7 days. Sometimes the amount is large, which is expected and inevitable. Therefore, before using progesterone, the patient must be informed that the hemostatic effect will not appear until the withdrawal bleeding stops, so as to prevent the patient from mistakenly believing that the treatment has failed and seeking medical treatment elsewhere or taking other hormones, resulting in medication disorders.

In order to reduce the amount of withdrawal bleeding, testosterone propionate (a male hormone preparation) can be injected at the same time as progesterone is injected intramuscularly, 25 to 50 mg per day for 3 days. If the amount of blood is still large, the patient should rest in bed and take general hemostatic drugs such as vitamin K, hemostatics, vitamin C, hemostatic aromatic acid orally or intramuscularly, or even glucose solution or blood transfusion. Estrogen and progestin preparations should not be used during withdrawal bleeding.

Estrogen hemostasis

If a young, unmarried patient with functional uterine bleeding suffers from severe anemia (hemoglobin <7.0 g/L) due to excessive blood loss or other problems, and curettage surgery is not yet possible and the patient cannot accept the withdrawal blood loss caused by the "medical curettage" described above, such a patient should be hospitalized.

In the above article, we introduced the importance of the uterus to female friends. We suggest that the majority of female friends should pay attention to protecting their uterus in daily life. If the uterus has ovulation bleeding for several consecutive months, it should be taken seriously. The above article introduces in detail what to do if ovulation bleeding occurs for several consecutive months.
