What is foamy leucorrhea?

Normal leucorrhea not only has no peculiar smell but is also mostly transparent in color. Sometimes it may become white with changes in the menstrual period. Its texture is generally sticky, which is normal leucorrhea. Generally, gynecological inflammation will first cause leucorrhea. For example, foamy leucorrhea is a common abnormal leucorrhea. In order for all female friends to better protect their own health, I hope that all female friends can understand what foamy leucorrhea is.

If you have grayish white or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea with a sour odor after bathing in a public bath or using a public bath towel or bathtub, you should consider whether you have been infected with Trichomonas vaginitis. Women suffering from Trichomonas vaginitis will have a large amount of leucorrhea in the posterior fornix, which is grayish yellow, yellowish white thin liquid or yellowish green purulent secretion, often in a foamy state.

There is also an increase in thin, foamy leucorrhea and vulvar itching. If there is a mixed infection with other bacteria, the discharge will be purulent and may have a foul odor. The itching areas are mainly the vaginal opening and vulva, and there may occasionally be burning, pain, and dyspareunia. If the urethra is infected, frequent urination and painful urination may occur, and sometimes hematuria may be seen. During the examination, congestion of the vaginal mucosa can be seen, and in severe cases there are scattered bleeding spots, etc.

So generally speaking, foamy leucorrhea indicates Trichomonas vaginitis, but there are other causes of foamy leucorrhea. If the leucorrhea increases significantly, you should generally consider the possibility of chronic endocervicitis, ovarian dysfunction, vaginal adenosis or well-differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma.

After understanding what foamy leucorrhea is, it is recommended that women who experience foamy leucorrhea should actively seek diagnosis and treatment. However, Trichomonas vaginitis is prone to recurring, so it is recommended that patients should adhere to treatment and ensure that their sexual partners are not infected. If infected, they should pay attention to receiving treatment together.
