Why does excessive menstrual bleeding occur?

For girls, menstruation is actually a painful thing, because the whole body feels uncomfortable during menstruation, especially on the first day the stomach really hurts. Some people have also encountered such a problem during menstruation, that is, excessive bleeding. Why is this? When encountering such a situation, will you also be very worried?

Some women start to worry every time their menstruation comes, wondering whether the menstrual flow will be particularly heavy this time, whether too much blood will leak out, or whether losing too much blood will make the body weak. So, why is the menstrual flow so heavy? If a woman's menstrual cycle is normal as diagnosed by Chinese medicine, but the menstrual flow is excessive or significantly increased compared to the past, it is called menorrhagia. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the main reasons for heavy menstrual flow in women are blood heat, qi deficiency, and blood stasis:

Blood heat:

Women of this type have a masculine constitution and usually like to eat spicy and fried foods. Some people are usually depressed, which causes liver depression turning into fire; some think too much, which leads to insufficient heart yin and hyperactivity of heart fire; some are affected by external heat evil, which forces blood to flow abnormally, thus causing excessive menstruation.

Qi deficiency:

Women of this type are usually physically weak or their tempers are damaged after a long illness. Some people are usually too tired and eat too much cold food, which eventually damages the spleen, weakens the vital energy, and fails to retain blood, resulting in excessive menstrual flow.

Blood stasis:

Women with a history of miscarriage or induced abortion are more likely to have blood stasis in their bodies. Some are due to long-term depression, which leads to blood stasis in the body. If the stagnant blood is not removed, new blood cannot flow normally in the meridians, resulting in excessive menstruation.

No matter what the reason is for your excessive blood loss, you need to pay attention to it. Some physical problems must be solved in a timely manner, otherwise it will often cause more serious consequences. So next time you encounter such a situation, you should know the general reason and then seek treatment.
