We all know that menstruation is an important physiological phenomenon for women, and the onset of menstruation is an important sign that girls are entering puberty. Most girls start having their first period around the age of 13-15, and the first menstrual period is called menarche. Normal menstruation lasts for 28-30 days and ends in 3-7 days. Some girls experience irregular menstruation after their period. What is the reason for this? Let me analyze it for you. The reason why women of childbearing age with fully developed ovaries can have normal menstrual cycles is entirely because the ovaries can ovulate, form a corpus luteum and produce progesterone, which causes the secretion changes of the endometrium on the basis of proliferation. The life span of the corpus luteum is only about 14 days. If conception does not occur, it will degenerate and atrophy about 14 days after ovulation, and will no longer secrete estrogen and progesterone, causing the endometrium to completely fall off, thus onset of menstruation. So some people jokingly call the corpus luteum that produces progesterone the "timer" of menstruation. The ovaries of adolescent girls are not fully developed and cannot ovulate, so there is no progesterone produced by the corpus luteum to regulate the menstrual cycle. The follicles in the ovaries develop one batch after another. Before the previous batch of follicles has atrophied, the next batch has already begun to develop. The fluctuation of estrogen levels produced by batches of follicles will cause part of the endometrium to shed and bleed, which is the "menstruation" of adolescent girls. Because the ovaries do not ovulate and there is no progesterone, the endometrium can neither shed regularly nor be completely and thoroughly shed at once. Instead, part of it sheds today, and part of it sheds tomorrow. By the time the back endometrium sheds, a new endometrium has grown where the front endometrium shed. In this way, the endometrium grows and sheds at the same time, and uterine bleeding continues and is often difficult to stop on its own. The clinical manifestations are menstruation every 40-50 days, and the menstrual period is very long. After about 2-3 years, the ovaries are fully developed and normal ovulation occurs, and menstruation will become normal. Everyone knows the reason why girls have irregular menstruation! Adolescent girls are in a stage of rapid physical and reproductive organ development, so they should strengthen their nutrition and supplement with foods rich in protein, vitamins, iron, calcium, etc. People with anemia should also be given iron supplements to correct anemia, improve their overall condition, arrange rest time reasonably, engage in appropriate physical exercise, and pay attention to the combination of work and rest. You should also pay attention to menstrual hygiene. It is not advisable to engage in strenuous exercise during menstruation and avoid eating too cold or spicy foods. I wish you good health! |
