What are the harmful effects of uterine fibroids?

I believe everyone knows the importance of the uterus to female friends. The uterus is part of the female reproductive organs. If there is a problem with the uterus, it will not only cause harm to the female friend's body but also easily lead to symptoms of infertility in female friends. One symptom that is prone to uterine damage is uterine fibroids. Although uterine fibroids are a benign tumor, we should also realize that uterine fibroids can easily cause harm to the patient's body.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive organs and one of the most common tumors in the human body. They are also called fibroids and uterine fibroids. Since uterine fibroids are mainly formed by the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells, with a small amount of fibrous connective tissue existing as a supporting tissue, it is more accurate to call them uterine leiomyomas. Referred to as uterine fibroids.

1. Excessive blood loss: After a woman suffers from uterine fibroids, her menstrual period may be prolonged and the amount of bleeding may increase, especially heavy bleeding in a short period of time, which may cause severe anemia and directly endanger the health of the body's functions.

2. Damage to kidney function: Uterine diseases are very harmful. If not treated in time, frequent urination, constipation, hydroureter, hydronephrosis, etc. will occur as the fibroids grow larger. When the pedicle of the fibroid is twisted, it causes acute abdominal pain; it stimulates uterine contractions and causes spasmodic pain; when the fibroid changes color and degenerates, it can cause severe pain.

3. Causes infertility: The most difficult thing for women to bear is that uterine fibroids can also cause infertility. The probability of uterine fibroids combined with infertility is as high as 27%. Fibroids change the morphology of the uterine cavity and the tumors hinder the implantation of fertilized eggs and affect sperm motility; they cause uterine endocrine dysfunction and endometrial tissue and functional disorders.

4. Leading to cancer: The most serious case of uterine fibroids is canceration. If sarcoma degeneration occurs and the tumor suddenly develops and grows rapidly, it may become malignant. Clinical investigations show that 0.5-1% of patients may develop malignant transformation. Currently, the 5-year survival rate of uterine sarcoma is only 20-30%.
