Longevity Cake

Ingredients: 100 grams each of yam, poria and water chestnut powder, 250 grams each of japonica rice flour and glutinous rice flour, 100 grams each of white sugar and brown sugar.

Preparation: Mix all the ingredients evenly, add appropriate amount of warm water to knead into dough, put into a wooden mold to press into cake shape, steam in a steamer and cut into small pieces. Eat in moderation.

Efficacy: Strengthens the spleen and kidneys, nourishes the heart and calms the mind, stimulates appetite and benefits the intestines. It is more suitable for the elderly who have poor sleep, poor appetite, loose stools and frequent bowel movements.

Songmai Fish Rice

Ingredients: 200 grams of herring meat, 50 grams of pine nuts, and 20 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus.

Preparation: Cut the back and belly meat of black carp into small pieces, mix with egg white and starch, fry in oil until cooked and set aside. Set aside the pine nuts. Select Ophiopogon japonicus that are of the same size, transparent and well-shaped. Add warm water and steam them in a pot. Heat up a pan with oil, pour the fish and rice in and stir-fry when the oil is hot, then add pine nuts and steamed Ophiopogon japonicus and stir-fry evenly, add wine, a little minced ginger, and appropriate amounts of salt and sugar, stir-fry, add a little fresh soup and cook for a while and serve. It can be eaten as a dish.

Three-kernel honey paste

Ingredients: 250 grams each of pine nuts and walnut kernels, 100 grams of sour jujube kernels, 250 grams of honey, and 500 grams of rice wine.

Preparation: Fry the three kernels and grind them into powder. Add rice wine and cook on the fire for about 10 minutes. Then add honey and mix well. If it is too thick, you can add a small amount of boiling water. Take one spoon each time with warm water, twice a day. Can be eaten intermittently.

Efficacy: Nourishes the heart and calms the mind, strengthens the spleen and tonifies the kidneys. It is more suitable for the elderly who have poor sleep, hard stools and forgetfulness. People with high blood sugar can reduce the amount of honey or not use it at all. People with loose stools should not eat it.

Cordyceps Sea Cucumber

Ingredients: 5 grams of Cordyceps sinensis, 300 grams of soaked sea cucumber.

Preparation: Soak the Cordyceps sinensis in warm water and remove its hard root part. Wash the sea cucumber and cut it into wide and long strips. Heat oil to stir-fry sea cucumber, add in fresh soup and cordyceps and simmer. When the cordyceps is soft, add salt, ginger, onion and wine to season, then boil for a few minutes. It can be eaten as a dish frequently.

Efficacy: Nourishes the lungs and kidneys, nourishes blood and moistens the intestines. It is suitable for people with weak lungs and prone to cough, asthma with excessive phlegm, or dry cough without phlegm. It can also nourish the kidneys and lungs and improve immune function.

Erzi Yannian Tea

Ingredients: 6 grams each of wolfberry and schisandra chinensis.

Preparation: Mash the two herbs in a container, take them out, place them in a magnetic cup with a lid, add boiling water to brew, cover and simmer for about 10 minutes, then drink slowly. 1 to 2 cups per day.

Efficacy: Nourishes the kidney and liver, strengthens the lungs and improves eyesight, consolidates essence and stops sweating, replenishes deficiency and resists aging, and prolongs life.
