Multiple complications, large uterus! Doctors use minimally invasive surgery to solve the problem of "huge tumor" and help the woman regain her life

Uterine fibroids is a simple disease, but when combined with multiple diseases such as "cerebral infarction, extremely high-risk stage 3 hypertension, carotid schwannoma, renal atrophy, pneumonia, anemia", the surgery for uterine fibroids is not a simple surgery, it requires multidisciplinary collaboration.

Ms. Huang, 51 years old, had suffered from the above-mentioned diseases in the past. She was found to have "multiple uterine leiomyoma and adenomyosis". Her uterus was enlarged to the size of a woman who was more than three months pregnant. Ms. Huang and her family came to the Hunan Provincial Second People's Hospital (Provincial Brain Hospital) to find Tang Zhengyu, director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and chief physician .

After curettage ruled out endometrial malignancy, Director Tang Zhengyu decided to perform a laparoscopic total hysterectomy on the patient. An MDT consultation was organized before the operation, and the neurosurgery, endocrinology, respiratory, anesthesia, cardiology, and neurology departments worked together to develop a treatment plan for the patient to help the patient safely through the perioperative period. The operation successfully removed the huge uterus with little bleeding.

Tang Zhengyu, director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and chief physician, said that uterine fibroids are a common benign gynecological tumor composed of smooth muscle and connective tissue. They are common in women aged 30 to 50 and rare in women under 20. Studies have shown that 60% to 80% of women suffer from uterine fibroids of varying sizes. Because they are mostly asymptomatic, the clinically reported prevalence is much lower than the actual prevalence. There are racial differences in the prevalence of uterine fibroids.

Uterine fibroids are sex hormone-dependent tumors, but their exact pathogenesis is unknown. Uterine fibroids are common in women of childbearing age, rare before puberty, and shrink or disappear after menopause. Their occurrence and development are clearly related to female hormones, and there is a certain genetic tendency. Hypertension, obesity, and infertility may increase the risk of disease.

If you experience menstrual disorders, lower abdominal masses, compression symptoms, pain, anemia, and increased secretions, you need to see a doctor in time. We usually need to maintain a healthy lifestyle: a balanced diet, moderate exercise, and avoid obesity.

Secondly, regular screening: It is recommended that women over 30 years old undergo gynecological examination every year.

In addition, be cautious when using medication: avoid abusing hormone drugs. Finally, manage your emotions: maintain a good attitude and avoid endocrine disorders.

Although uterine fibroids are common and mostly benign, they can cause serious symptoms. Timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment can effectively control the condition. For high-risk groups, regular checkups are particularly important to achieve early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment.

The patient received auxiliary treatment of traditional Chinese medicine after the operation. Director Tang Zhengyu also personally gave the patient acupuncture to help relieve postoperative gastrointestinal discomfort.

The patient recovered quickly after the operation and was discharged smoothly.
