1. High-sodium foods

Patients with kidney disease should follow the principle of a low-salt diet. Patients with edema need to strictly control their salt intake. Severe edema may even require a salt-free or low-sodium diet.

Therefore, be sure to avoid high-salt foods such as beef jerky, beef floss, fermented bean curd, bacon, dried shrimp, salted duck eggs, mustard tuber, seaweed, pickled Chinese mustard, salt, soy sauce, bean paste, and various sauces and pickles.

2. High-fat foods

If lipid metabolism disorder occurs, fat intake must be controlled. At this time, high-fat foods that are not suitable for consumption include nuts such as peanuts, walnuts, almonds, sesame seeds, and animal oils such as sausages, fatty meat, and pork belly.

3. High cholesterol foods

You need to stay away from some offal foods, such as pork liver, pork lungs, pork kidneys, duck liver, eggs, anchovies, shrimp skin, crab roe, etc.

It is important to note that although eggs and other types of eggs have a high cholesterol content, they are complete in nutrients and have considerable nutritional value, so it is still recommended to eat one whole egg a day.

4. Spicy food

Patients with nephrotic syndrome usually have gastrointestinal mucosal edema and ascites problems, which will affect digestion and absorption. They are suitable for eating light and easily digestible food. Chili peppers, mustard and various types of alcohol are not suitable.
