Chengxin Intelligent Robot is with autistic children

On the afternoon of April 2, 2024, World Autism Day, volunteers from the Intelligent Robot Maker Science Popularization Base of Chengdu University of Information Technology went to the Special Education Resource School in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, to participate in activities with autistic children. Volunteers from the Chengdu Shuangliu District Disabled Persons' Federation also participated in the event.

What is a robot? The three laws of robotics: 1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2) A robot must obey all orders given to it by human beings, except as provided in the first law. 3) A robot must protect its own safety, except as provided in the first and second laws. The children all have their own opinions.

Volunteers from the Chengdu University of Information Technology Intelligent Robot Maker Science Popularization Base discussed with children: Is a robot a human or a machine? Many children answered that they are human. Very cute.

Afterwards, the Intelligent Robot Maker Science Popularization Base of Chengdu University of Information Technology distributed handmade robots to children from the Special Education Resource School in Shuangliu District, Chengdu.

With the help of teachers from the Chengdu Shuangliu District Special Education Resource School, volunteers from the Chengdu University of Information Technology Intelligent Robot Maker Science Popularization Base, and volunteers from the Chengdu Shuangliu District Disabled Persons’ Federation, the children completed their own handicrafts. They were very happy to see the handmade robots that could run! Their methods are different, and they are serious.

Afterwards, volunteers from the Chengdu University of Information Technology Intelligent Robot Maker Science Base demonstrated the robot. Under the guidance of the volunteers, the children operated the big robot and they were all very proud!
