Too stressed to fall asleep? Adjusting your schedule is the key!

Do you feel depressed every day and feel that there is no hope in life?

Become Emo as soon as it gets late at night, and be "forced" to stay up late?

Are you often too stressed to fall asleep, and then troubled by "grumpiness" the next day?

Be careful! Stress, anxiety, depression, moodiness, these negative emotions that you ignore may be quietly eroding you.

Today's special column invited Li Lei, a researcher at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Let's hear what the experts say about the diseases that negative emotions may cause and how to improve negative emotions by changing daily habits.

Q1: What diseases can negative emotions easily cause?

As our material living standards improve, people are actually paying more attention to some mental issues. On the one hand, this is because mental (psychological) health is an important part of our national health outline ("Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline"), and on the other hand, there are many mental illnesses that are gradually being understood by everyone. For example, anxiety disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, etc., the prevalence rate is actually quite high. There are even many healthy people who actually have some anxiety or depression tendencies.

First of all, we must see these problems and face them squarely. Only when we pay attention to them can we prevent and intervene in advance.

Q2: How to improve negative emotions by adjusting your work and rest schedule?

I think the relationship between mood and sleep is two-way. Everyone knows that when people are in a bad mood, it may be difficult to fall asleep. On the other hand, if the quality of sleep is not good, it is easy to wake up in a bad mood and be irritable the next day.

But in addition to the tips for regulating emotions that I mentioned earlier, a more feasible measure is to adjust your own work and rest time, which is easier to implement. I think if we can pay more attention to this issue from the conscious level and know that it does have a mechanism at the scientific and research level, then "early bedtime is important", "sleep is important", "sleep is also important for your emotions", "emotions are important to your health", etc. will be more well known to everyone. I believe that the internalization of this kind of thinking can be transformed into behavioral changes, so this is why I hope to do more popular science.
