Guideline recommendations: "Expert recommendations for adult hepatitis A vaccination" have been released, and these three key points need to be paid attention to

China has issued the " Expert Recommendations on Hepatitis A Vaccination for Adults ", which is similar to the American ACIP's recommendations on hepatitis A vaccination, but with many highlights:

1. The recommendation distinguishes between ages: adults over 18 years old with no history of hepatitis A disease or hepatitis A vaccination can be vaccinated. Among them, adults aged "18-39" can be vaccinated directly; "adults aged 40 and above" can be tested for anti-HAV IgG before vaccination, and those with negative test results can be vaccinated. However, it is safe not to conduct anti-HAV IgG screening before vaccination. Explanation: my country was previously a high-prevalence area for hepatitis A, and the incidence has been declining since then, but in fact, there was a period when the risk of natural infection was low, but there was no hepatitis A vaccination at that time, so there was a need for booster vaccination.

2. People in disaster areas: People in disaster areas affected by floods, typhoons, droughts, earthquakes, etc. Explanation: In fact, "a major disaster will inevitably be followed by a major epidemic" does not only include respiratory diseases or insect-borne diseases, but also the risk of intestinal infectious diseases.

3. Catering practitioners: food production and operation practitioners. Explanation: Catering or food practitioners can easily contaminate food and cause transmission. In recent years, there have been cases of cross-border transmission and even death. Considering that my country's "takeout industry" is so developed, the food-borne virus transmission chain is far more mature than overseas. Therefore, it may be more necessary to cover the catering chain with hepatitis A vaccine to reduce the risk of outbreaks. Although the recommendation is very clear, this recommendation is actually very similar to the previous influenza vaccine technical guidelines, because domestic research evidence is still insufficient, and more research is needed in the future to provide new evidence to supplement and replace the recommendations, so as to continuously update the content.
