Symptoms of female pubic lice

What women worry about most is that they have gynecological diseases. Although some diseases are not very serious, they do cause great trouble to women. Pubic lice are a common skin disease in our daily life. The vast majority of patients are women, but because this disease is relatively secretive, many women are troubled to speak out. So, what are the symptoms of pubic lice in women?

1. Itching

Itching is the main symptom, but the degree of itching varies from person to person. Itching occurs because pubic lice use their claws to pierce or puncture the skin, and itching occurs after bites and when saliva is introduced. Pubic lice introduce saliva when physically sucking blood because saliva can prevent blood from clotting, which is beneficial to physical blood sucking.

2. Gray-green spots

Gray-green spots appear, 0.2 to 2 cm in size, around the wound. They are not itchy or painful, and do not fade when pressed. They can last for several months. Such gray-green spots can also be seen on the chest, abdomen, inner thigh, etc. The cause of these gray-green spots is still unclear at this stage. It may be related to the saliva entering the blood after the pubic lice bite.

3. Microplates often appear

After pubic lice bites, micro-pores often appear at the site, which is partially red and has small black spots higher than the soft skin, with scabs on them; after about 5 days, the micro-pores will partially cause allergic symptoms, often with raised papules. Infection often occurs due to scratching, with pustules, exudate, scarring, secondary eczema or folliculitis.

How pubic lice spread in women

1. Sexually transmitted infections

Sexual transmission is the most important route of transmission of pubic lice. In clinical medicine, pubic lice often spreads among multiple sexual partners. Pubic lice can find new hosts through sexual intercourse and grow and reproduce on the new hosts.

2. Immediate infection

Pubic lice can also be transmitted directly under poor hygiene conditions. For example, due to limited living conditions, crowded housing, and poor hygiene, people may be infected with the disease by sleeping in the same room with patients with pubic lice and having close contact with them.

3. Indirect transmission

When pubic lice and lice eggs are contaminated by the loss of pubic hair and contaminate underwear, towels, sheets, toilet seats, etc., other people may be infected by touching these objects contaminated by pubic lice. This method is called indirect contact infection.
