Overload leads to occupational diseases!

China Science and Technology News Network, January 11 (Xu Qiqi) According to Jiupai News, a 23-year-old man fainted while sorting goods in a McDonald’s cold storage and died after being sent to the hospital for treatment for 5 months. According to the hospital’s diagnosis, Li’s cause of death was septic shock.

Kaohsiung Medical University confirmed that the man carried 1.1 tons of French fries and hash browns in 40 minutes and 46 seconds on the day he became ill. He was exposed to 48 temperature differences, did a lot of physical labor in a short period of time, and was in a low-temperature environment for 29 minutes and 14 seconds. It was determined that the man's illness was caused by an occupational disease caused by overload.

Shock refers to a pathological process in which the body's effective circulating blood volume decreases sharply and tissue blood perfusion is seriously insufficient due to pathogenic factors such as severe blood loss, trauma, and infection, thereby causing metabolic and cellular damage. Effective circulating blood volume refers to the amount of blood that circulates through the cardiovascular system per unit time.

Massive blood loss, fluid loss, allergies, infections, large-area burns, heart dysfunction, etc. may all cause shock. Shock patients may show symptoms such as weak pulse, low blood pressure, increased heart rate, impaired consciousness, and decreased urine output. The specific situation may vary depending on the severity of the disease and the type of shock.

Shock can be divided into three categories: hypovolemic shock, vasogenic shock and neurogenic shock.

Hypovolemic shock is caused by insufficient intravascular volume, insufficient ventricular filling, and decreased cardiac output. It includes hemorrhagic shock, burn shock, and traumatic shock.

Vasogenic shock is caused by vasodilation and increased vascular volume, which leads to a sharp decrease in effective circulating blood volume, affecting tissue blood perfusion. It includes septic shock, anaphylactic shock, and neurogenic shock. Among them, septic shock is the septic shock suffered by the man, which is one of the most common types of shock in clinical practice.

Cardiogenic shock is caused by failure of the heart's pumping function, insufficient cardiac output, and tissue ischemia and hypoxia.

Most cases of shock have a good prognosis, but some difficult-to-treat shocks, if developed to the late stage and causing problems such as organ failure, may lead to the death of the patient.
