Counterpoint: Huawei's smartphone sales on "Double Eleven" in 2023 will increase by 66% year-on-year

During this year's two-week "Double Eleven" sales event, China's smartphone sales grew 5% year-on-year, providing more confidence for growth in the fourth quarter.

"This is a good start for the rest of the quarter," said Mengmeng Zhang, senior analyst at China. "Huawei continues to maintain its strong momentum along with Xiaomi, which has seen its sales surge further with the launch of its new 14-series devices."

China analyst Archie Zhang said: "Huawei's success and ranking rise has been driven by the popularity of the recently launched Mate 60 series 5G phones and the older P-series 4G devices. The company has reported some very good growth figures, but it is clear that base effects are taking place. We expect growth of more than half this year, but this still does not bring them close to pre-COVID levels. But it points to a promising 2024."

"Compared with last month, Apple's situation has improved, but there still seems to be problems on the supply side," said Ivan Lam, senior manufacturing analyst. "But considering that the supply disruption in November last year was an anomaly, the current supply tightness is normalizing and the year-on-year data may turn positive."
