Facebook: Data shows that VR significantly improves corporate efficiency; Oculus enters enterprise VR applications

Facebook launched a new enterprise VR solution "Oculus for Business" at the F8 conference in 2019. This solution is used for : a holistic enterprise-level solution designed for large-scale deployment, including the previous software suite, and providing device management tools, enterprise-level services and technical support, and even providing development process guidance for enterprises.

In addition to software solutions, the new service also includes VR hardware bulk purchases, with the Oculus Go 64GB version priced at $599 and the Oculus Quest 128GB version priced at $999. Enterprise-level VR hardware will support enterprise-level warranty, software and service support for one year, and after one year, software services will adopt a paid model, with each VR headset costing $180.

According to FB's demonstration at F8, Facebook VR enterprise solutions have been successfully implemented in training and design scenarios of companies such as Walmart and Ford.

According to the data it disclosed, in Walmart's training case, VR training can save 40% of time compared to traditional training methods and improve employee performance by 70%.

The efficiency improvement in medical skills is even more significant. Compared with traditional training methods, doctors' performance can be improved by 230%.

In car design, the use of VR can save a lot of time. Design work that used to take months can now be completed in 20 hours.

Facebook’s current VR enterprise solution partners and developers include immerse, STRIVR, etc.

Similar to most enterprise solutions, FB's Oculus enterprise solution will also follow the design principles of scalability, professionalism and trustworthiness.

Facebook’s VR enterprise solution is now available through the website and is expected to be officially released in September 2019.
