IDC has released smartphone market data for the first quarter of 2013. Finnish website Digitoday.fi reported some sales performance of Nokia in its home base. The Finnish market is quite small compared to other major markets in the world. In the first quarter of 2013, about 430,000 smartphones were sold, most of which were Samsung, accounting for 43% of the total, or about 186,000 units. How did Nokia perform? The company sold about 100,000 smartphones, most of which were Lumia smartphones. However, according to the charts provided by the media, Nokia showed signs of rebounding, surpassing iPhone sales in the first quarter, accounting for 23% of Finland's smartphone sales, returning to the second place. On the other hand, both Samsung and Apple showed signs of decline. Samsung will hope that the Galaxy S4 will continue to maintain its position as the king, while Apple's iPhone 5 has reached its end and urgently needs to launch a new phone to save the market. Finland has always been one of Nokia's core bases, but with the fatigue in recent years, the base camp finally lost. Now the sales share has exceeded 20%, which is enough to prove the status of "domestic products should be self-reliant" in the hearts of the Finnish people. Although the numbers do not have an overwhelming advantage, they show Nokia's determination to re-equip itself. |
