If your child walks in an abnormal posture, you should pay special attention!

Childhood is an important period of bone development. If parents find that their children have incorrect walking posture or stagger when walking, they must take their children to the hospital to see an orthopedic doctor as soon as possible.

Abnormal posture may reflect abnormal bone development, and it can also cause uneven force on the body and further damage the bones. The most common abnormal postures are as follows:

1. X-shaped legs

Children always walk with their thighs tucked together, with their legs forming an X shape. This phenomenon is more common among children who are not very active. X-shaped legs will cause the outer space of the child's knee joint to bear excessive pressure, increase joint friction, cause joint degeneration and joint pain in the outer space of the knee joint, and thus affect normal walking activities.

2. O-shaped legs

When children walk, their legs are always apart, like riding a horse, with a bracket between the legs, which is a typical O-shaped leg. O-shaped legs are caused by excessive pressure and friction concentrated on the medial articular surface of the knee joint, which can lead to serious problems such as wear of the medial cartilage surface of the knee joint, collapse of the tibial plateau, and secondary osteoarthritis.

3. Inner and outer eight characters.

The incorrect gait of turning one's feet inward or outward will not only cause children to fall easily when walking and walk unsteadily, but will also cause bad postures such as pelvic tilt, scoliosis, and sloping shoulders due to the compensatory effect of the incorrect gait.

The abnormal posture of children may be a "bad habit" or a developmental abnormality. Some congenital malformations, such as scoliosis, flat feet, cerebral palsy, etc., can also cause abnormal walking posture in children.

Therefore, when parents find that their children walk abnormally, they should not be impatient, let alone blame their children. On the one hand, we can pay attention to guiding children to walk in the correct posture, and on the other hand, we should take children to the hospital orthopedic department in time to check the cause.
