BI Intelligence: Social network survey analysis: Facebook is dominated by middle-aged people

BI Intelligence, a think tank under the news website Business Insider, conducted a survey and analysis of users of major social networks. The following are the important conclusions of the survey results:

Facebook: The social platform is gradually being taken over by middle-aged people. Although Facebook still attracts young people's interest, the number of users aged 45 to 54 has increased by 45% since the end of 2012. Among Internet users in the United States, 73% of those with an annual income of more than $75,000 use Facebook (compared to only 17% using Twitter). Among Facebook users, 86% are from outside the United States.

Instagram: This platform is popular among female users. According to a survey, 68% of Instagram users are female.

Twitter: A gathering place for young people. In the United States, 27% of young people aged 18 to 29 use Twitter; 16% of people aged 30 to 40 use Twitter.

LinkedIn: The most international social networking platform, with more male users.

Google+: The social platform with the largest number of male users, with 70% of users being male.

Pinterest: The most popular social network for users to access via tablet. In addition, 84% of Pinterest users in the United States are women.

Tumblr: A mecca for teenagers. Teenagers who like to express themselves are most likely to use Tumblr, while only 8% of those with an annual income of more than $75,000 use Tumblr.
