Pay attention to this symptom! It is likely to be herpes zoster

"Why won't this little rash on my waist and abdomen heal?"

#Shingles

Shingles is known as one of the top ten painful skin diseases. It is commonly known as "snake around the waist" or "dragon around the waist". It is an infectious disease that affects the nerves and skin.

Shingles is an acute infectious skin disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is hidden in the body of patients who have been infected with chickenpox. The most common common shingles occurs on the trunk, including the chest, abdomen and back, mainly causing pain and rash. The pain is sometimes comparable to childbirth, or even more severe and prolonged. Some patients suffer from pain for more than ten years, and some patients also suffer from sleep disorders, anxiety and depression.

Most patients experience electric shock, needle prick, or burning sensations during pain attacks, which are so painful that they cannot eat.

It is difficult to eat or even fall asleep, causing both physical and psychological torture.

Public Cases

The patient is a 44-year-old male with erythema and pain in the waist and abdomen that lasted for one month.

1. Discovery of Disease

Just a month ago, I suddenly developed erythema and clustered blisters on the right side of my waist and abdomen, accompanied by intermittent needle-like pain. At the same time, my sleep quality also deteriorated during the period when the erythema was discovered. At first, I thought these erythema might be mosquito bites and it was not a big deal. The pain was intermittent, so I didn't pay much attention to it. However, the pain in the rash on my right side of my waist and abdomen became more and more severe, but there was no special discomfort such as fever and itching. The unbearable pain forced me to go to the hospital for examination.

2. Treatment Process

The doctor checked the erythematous rash on my body, and combined with my symptoms and specialist examinations, he quickly diagnosed me with "herpes zoster". My attending doctor gave me injections of acyclovir to fight the virus, methylcobalamin tablets to nourish the nerves, and acyclovir ointment for external application; he also combined Chinese herbal decoctions, acupuncture, bloodletting, and cupping treatments; during the hospitalization, he also advised me to eat a light diet, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and pay attention to rest.

After two weeks of combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment, the tingling discomfort on my right waist and abdomen has eased, the original rash has subsided, and no new rash has developed. The condition has healed, and the quality of sleep has greatly improved. After the doctor explained the relevant precautions to me, I was discharged from the hospital. After discharge, I continued to take Chinese medicine decoctions to consolidate the condition and methylcobalamin tablets to nourish the nerves and prevent postherpetic neuralgia.

3. Notes

1. Eat a light and non-irritating diet, take a rest, and keep the rash as clean and dry as possible, which will help reduce the risk of bacterial infection of the rash;

2. Wearing loose clothing can help reduce friction and the risk of blisters rupturing. If the blisters are exuding fluid, you can use cold compresses (cloth or towels cooled with tap water) several times a day to soothe the skin and keep it clean.

3. Do not scratch the rash with your hands. This can prevent the virus from spreading through hand contact and prevent scars or pigment changes.

4. During the treatment, you should actively cooperate with the doctor's operations, do not rush, and inform the medical staff in time if you have any discomfort.

4. Personal insights

Through this visit to the doctor, I deeply realized that if I have any uncomfortable symptoms, I must not hold on to luck and delay, and I must seek medical treatment in time. At the same time, during the treatment in the hospital, I also had some simple understanding of herpes zoster through conversations with doctors. Herpes zoster is a common disease in dermatology, and there are also many patients who come to the hospital for treatment every day.

The general symptoms of this disease are local erythema and blisters, which are common on the chest, back, head, face, waist and abdomen, and the pain is obvious. If these symptoms occur in daily life, you must not be careless. If the disease is not treated in time, sequelae such as neuralgia are likely to occur.

In order to promote the recovery of the disease as soon as possible, I recommend you based on my own experience: try not to contact people with low immunity during treatment, do not overwork, do not stay up late, ensure a normal work and rest schedule, exercise appropriately, and eat a reasonable diet. The above is my experience in treating herpes zoster. I wish you all good health.
