Most patients first have long-term vulvar itching, and some develop papules, lumps or small ulcers many years later, which are difficult to heal. Some patients are accompanied by vulvar leukoplakia. When the tumor is adjacent to or invades the urethral opening, frequent urination, urgency, pain, burning sensation during urination, and difficulty urinating may occur. Vulvar itching is mostly located in the clitoris and labia minora, and can also spread to the labia majora, perineum and even around the anus. It is often a paroxysmal attack, but can also be persistent, usually worsening at night.
