Maintain personal hygiene

Parents should maintain good hygiene at home and on their own, clean up garbage in time, expose the baby's quilts, clothes, and stuffed toys to the sun frequently, disinfect the baby's tableware and toys regularly, and wash hands frequently, especially when they come into contact with respiratory secretions such as snot. And be sure to wash with clean water, soap, or disinfectant hand sanitizer for a long enough time, and don't ignore the back of the hand and between the fingers, so as to inhibit virus invasion.

Open windows and ventilate frequently every day

The air in the room is not circulating, and the baby is very likely to be infected with the virus in this environment. Therefore, you need to open the windows every day to exchange the air, so as to keep the indoor air fresh and clean. If the outdoor air is also relatively poor, you can choose to use an air purifier.

Try not to go to crowded places or go less often

Especially during the peak season of influenza, parents should try to avoid taking their babies to crowded places. This is because babies have weak immunity and it is not suitable for infants and young children to wear masks for a long time, which can easily induce the risk of suffocation. In densely populated places, viruses can easily spread through the air, and babies are more likely to be infected with influenza. If you really want to take your baby out, try to go to open and less crowded places.

Get a flu shot early

Getting a flu shot is the most effective way to prevent the flu. It is recommended that all babies over 6 months old should get the seasonal flu shot in a timely manner.

Eat a balanced diet

In daily diet, we should ensure that the baby's nutrition is reasonable and balanced. For babies who are in the lactation period, breastfeeding is recommended, because breast milk is the best source of immunity for babies and can help babies effectively resist influenza; older babies can eat more foods rich in various vitamins and minerals.

Vitamin C can promote the formation of antibodies in the baby's body and enhance the baby's own immunity. Various vegetables and fruits are sources of vitamin C; insufficient vitamin A can easily cause respiratory infections, so babies should eat more foods rich in vitamin A, such as carrots, amaranth, spinach, pumpkin, red and yellow fruits, animal liver, and milk; iron deficiency can also lead to the inability to generate T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes, which is closely related to the immune system. Animal blood, milk, eggs, spinach, meat and other foods can supplement iron; and zinc is the "nemesis" of many viruses. In the high-incidence season of influenza, you may as well give your baby more meat, seafood, poultry and other foods rich in zinc to help your baby resist influenza viruses.
