Eating sugar can easily lead to fatty liver! Swiss research

Recently, a study from the University of Zurich in Switzerland once again confirmed that eating sugar is "toxic".

Studies show that even moderate consumption of sugar can double the amount of fat that grows on the liver.

Fructose increases liver fat significantly, twice as much as glucose, while sucrose is slightly more than fructose.

"Drinking an 800 ml bottle of beverage contains about 80 g of sugar, which can cause fat to grow in the liver," said the researcher.

The study also found that even if you stop eating sugar, the "oil" growing on the liver will continue for a long time.

An increase in liver fat increases the risk of diabetes.

Currently, the World Health Organization recommends that daily sugar intake should not exceed 50 g, or even 25 g.

Previous studies have found that drinking 1 to 2 cups of sugary drinks a day will increase the risk of type 2 diabetes by 26%; increase the risk of non-fatal myocardial infarction or sudden death by 35%; and increase the risk of stroke by 16%.

The "deadly" toxic mechanism of sugar is that the liver converts sugar into fat, increases triglycerides, causes insulin resistance, leads to metabolic syndrome, and increases blood pressure, increasing the risk of diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

The study involved 94 healthy young people who drank a sweetened drink containing fructose, sucrose or glucose every day for seven weeks, while the other group did not. The researchers used tracers to analyze the effects of sugar on lipid metabolism.
