Reduce the number of window openings for ventilation in winter and follow the "Seven Musts" for home cleaning and disinfection

The weather is cold in winter, people open windows less frequently for ventilation, and places are relatively closed, which increases the risk of transmission of respiratory infectious diseases such as influenza. So, how to clean and disinfect your home in winter? The Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention reminds you to follow the "seven musts" for home cleaning and disinfection.

First, ventilate frequently. Depending on the specific weather conditions, ventilate 2 to 3 times a day, each time for no less than half an hour, and keep warm when ventilating.

Second, wash your hands frequently. Wash your hands before meals, after going to the toilet, when you go out and before touching your mouth, eyes, and nose. Wash your hands after touching potentially contaminated items, or use hand sanitizer to disinfect.

Third, change and wash clothes frequently. Change and wash clothes frequently when going out. If necessary, you can boil them in boiling water to disinfect them, or soak them in 84 disinfectants according to the product instructions.

Fourth, keep your home clean. Door handles, telephones, desktops and other surfaces that are frequently touched by hands should be cleaned every day. If necessary, you can wipe and disinfect them with disinfectants such as 75% alcohol or 84 disinfectant according to the product instructions.

Fifth, tableware should be disinfected regularly. Especially when guests come to visit, the tableware that needs to be disinfected can be placed in a special pot and boiled for more than 15 minutes.

Sixth, oral and nasal secretions should be handled properly. Family members should cover their mouths and noses with tissues when they cough or sneeze. Used tissues and other garbage should be placed in a separate garbage bag and disposed of in a timely manner. Family members should avoid contact.

Seventh, be careful when using chemical disinfectants. Wear masks and gloves when disinfecting, disinfect moderately, and avoid excessive disinfection to avoid chemical pollution.

Related knowledge: Pay attention to these matters when using chemical disinfection products at home

When using chemical disinfection products at home, you should pay attention to the bleaching and corrosive properties of chemical disinfectants. Take personal protection measures, such as wearing rubber gloves or other impermeable gloves. Chemical disinfectants should be properly stored, with the bottle caps tightly closed, and placed in a cool, ventilated place that is out of reach of children.

Here are some common ways to use household chemical disinfection products:

75% alcohol: Use directly to wipe or soak small items, wipe the surface of objects, skin and hands, etc. Keep away from fire.

Hydrogen-containing disinfectant: It is recommended to use according to the product label instructions. The commonly used home disinfection concentration is 250mg/L-500mg/L. It can be used for wiping and disinfecting white cotton fabrics, corrosion-resistant items and surfaces, or soaking and disinfecting small items, such as tableware, for 30 minutes.

Hand-free disinfectant: When there is no visible contamination on the hands, it can be directly applied and rubbed. If the hands are contaminated, they can be used after washing your hands, take an appropriate amount of hand disinfectant (generally squeeze or press the hand disinfectant bottle once, and the hand disinfectant squeezed out should be no less than 1mL), rub it thoroughly, and the disinfection effect can be achieved after 1 minute.
