My neck is sore and painful. Which sleeping position is best?

I am an editor. Due to long-term desk work, my neck often feels uncomfortable, especially in the morning when I wake up, my neck is sore and painful.

Why does this happen? Is it because of the inappropriate sleeping posture at night?

After getting up in the morning, I felt very uncomfortable in my neck, which may indeed be related to my sleeping position at night.

Because of improper sleeping posture, the neck muscles will be stretched all night, which will naturally make you feel uncomfortable when you wake up the next day.

So, how should we sleep well?

The recommended sleeping position is to keep the cervical, thoracic and lumbar sections of the spine in a natural curvature.

Specifically, it is ideal to keep the head and neck in a natural extended position, with the waist and back lying flat on a wooden bed, or a Simmons mattress placed on the board, with the knees and hip joints slightly bent, and soft cushions placed under the knees and calves.

This sleeping position can allow the muscles, ligaments and joints of the whole body to achieve maximum relaxation and rest.

Of course, if you are not used to lying on your back, you can also choose to lie on your side.

By the way, the prone position is not recommended, because it is unscientific from the perspective of biomechanics or maintaining a patent airway, and should be corrected.
