Is squeezing pimples life-threatening? Do you still dare to touch the dangerous triangle area of your face?

Acne, commonly known as "pimples", is the most common skin disease on the face of teenagers. It is a chronic inflammation of the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles. Acne is caused by excessive secretion of sebum, blockage of the sebaceous gland ducts of the hair follicles, bacterial infection and inflammatory response. Clinically, it manifests from mild to severe as whiteheads, blackheads, inflammatory papules and pustules, cysts and nodules. Red and purulent acne is caused by bacterial infection.

In daily life, many people like to squeeze acne with their hands when they have it on their face. In fact, it is best not to squeeze acne, especially acne in the "triangle area" of the human face. Because in the process of squeezing acne, if it is squeezed improperly, it will not only damage the tissues around the acne, causing more inflammation, causing delayed healing, obvious acne marks and other adverse consequences, but also cause bacteria to spread through the bloodstream, causing more serious infections. Recently, a 19-year-old girl in Ninghai, Zhejiang, developed an intracranial infection because of squeezing acne. This deep infection caused by squeezing acne in the dangerous triangle area can be fatal in severe cases.

Why should we say that acne in the "triangle" of the human face should not be squeezed? First of all, the "triangle" of the human face usually refers to the triangular area formed by the line connecting the corners of the mouth on both sides to the root of the nose. It is also the area on the human face that is most prone to acne. This area is rich in blood vessels and has sufficient nutrient supply, so the toxins discharged by the human body can be "cleaned" in time. Secondly, the facial triangle is also called the "dangerous triangle" because there are 6 veins in the human head and face that can lead to the skull. They have branches and communicate with each other to form a dense vascular network. The facial vein is the only vein in the human body without venous valves. Venous blood will flow to the "waste treatment station" with toxins, but due to the special structure of the facial vein, the blood will flow upward to the skull in addition to flowing down to the neck vein normally. If acne grows in the triangular area of the human face and is squeezed by hand, bacteria and dust on the surrounding skin will enter the blood and flow around along the venous network, which is easy to cause infection of organs such as the eyes and nose. In severe cases, it will also cause intracranial infection and lead to sepsis. Therefore, acne patients should establish a positive and optimistic attitude and pay attention to daily facial care.
