How to do reproductive hormone test

How to do reproductive hormone test

Six items of sex hormones are tests that almost every mother who is preparing for pregnancy will take. How to do the reproductive hormone test? What is the significance of the six indicators? When should blood be drawn for the test? Today, let's take a comprehensive look.

1. Check the basic knowledge of estrogen

Sex hormones (including progesterone and estrogen) should not be used for at least one month before checking the basic estrogen level, otherwise the results will be unreliable (except for estrogen that needs to be re-examined after treatment).

It is OK to check estrogen at any time during menstruation, and the standard value for each time period is different. However, in order to treat infertility, you must understand the basic female hormones. First of all, you should choose to check on the 2nd to 5th day of the menstrual period, which is called basic female hormones, and measure professionally on the 3rd day. It is definitely the third day of menstruation. It is sufficient to check 5 estrogen items, and it is not necessary to check the progesterone value. The progesterone value should be checked during the follicular phase (21 days of menstruation or 7 days after ovulation). However, it cannot be determined whether vaginal bleeding is menstruation or not. 6 items should be checked to avoid misdiagnosis (the menstrual cycle period can be roughly determined based on the P data).

For those with infrequent menstruation or amenorrhea, if the urine pregnancy test is negative, intravaginal B-ultrasound examination shows that there is no ≥1b250m egg in both uterus and ovaries, and the EM thickness is ﹤5mm, it can also be used as the basic situation.

The basic estrogen test sheet should be read as follows: the basic LH and FSH standard values are 5-10 IU/L, the basic E2 standard value is 25-51080 g/ml (these 3 results cannot be compared with the standard values on the test sheet, but must be based on this standard); PRL and T can be compared with the standard values on the hospital's outpatient test sheet, and the P standard value is shown below.

2. Six items of female hormones

Generally refers to:

1. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH): It is a glycoprotein growth hormone metabolized by the pituitary gland. Its physiological function is mainly to promote the development and improvement of the uterus and the metabolism of estrogen.

2. Lutein is converted into growth hormone (LH): a glycoprotein growth hormone metabolized by the pituitary gland. The physiological effect is mainly to promote female ovulation and progesterone conversion, and promote progesterone to metabolize estrogen and female hormones.

3. Prolactin (PRL): An active polypeptide protein growth hormone metabolized by the pituitary gland. Its key function is to promote breast development and milk secretion.

4. Estradiol (E2): Mainly secreted by the uterus and ovaries, and a small amount is produced by adrenaline. The main function is to make the uterine wall grow into the reproductive stage and promote the growth and development of women's secondary sexual characteristics.

5. Progesterone value (P): It is metabolized by the progesterone in the uterus and ovaries, and a small amount is produced by adrenaline. The key function is to promote the change of the uterine wall from the reproductive phase to the metabolic phase.

6. Testosterone (T): It is converted from androstenedione metabolized by the uterus, ovaries and adrenal glands. Its key function is to promote the growth and development of the clitoris, vulva and mons pubis, promote the growth and development of male pubic hair and axillary hair, and have an inhibitory effect on estrogen; it has a certain effect on the body's metabolism, such as promoting protein production.
