Can liquor be dried in the sun? Why is the Moutai bottle not transparent?

Liquor is a distilled liquor, with various flavors such as sauce-flavored and light-flavored, and the taste is also different. Liquor should be stored in a dark and cool place, because direct sunlight will affect the composition of the liquor, and thus affect the taste. This is also one of the reasons why Moutai is not packaged in transparent bottles.

Can liquor be dried in the sun?

First, let's understand the storage environment of liquor: Liquor is best stored in a dark, ventilated, cool and dry place with constant humidity (humidity maintained at about 70%) and constant temperature (temperature should not exceed 30 degrees), such as a cellar, a special warehouse, a special wine cabinet, etc. It is recommended to install air conditioning in the storage place to control the indoor humidity and temperature.

If liquor is kept in a place exposed to sunlight for a long time and the temperature cannot be controlled below 30 degrees, it will destroy the liquor molecules in the bottle, change the chemical composition, and seriously affect its taste and value, so it should be placed in a dark place.

Why is the Moutai bottle not transparent?

In the 1950s, Moutai still used earthenware bottles or white porcelain bottles, but because the bottles were thick, unsightly, prone to leakage and expensive, Moutai began to focus on the research and development of bottle materials. In the mid-1960s, the milky white glass bottle was successfully trial-produced, solving the problems of leakage and appearance. Since then, Moutai Distillery has begun to change its packaging on a large scale, and Moutai for domestic and export sales has uniformly used white milky glass bottles.

If glass bottles are used, summer ultraviolet rays can easily cause the temperature of Moutai to rise, causing changes in nutrients such as alcohol and affecting the taste of the wine. The rise in temperature can also cause chemical reactions of various microorganisms, leading to changes in the quality of the wine and its preservation value. Milky white glass bottles can block sunlight and resist ultraviolet rays. They also look good, are leak-proof, and can achieve a constant temperature.

Why are there glass beads in Maotai bottles?

1. Prevent wine leakage during transportation of goods;

2. Limit the flow rate of wine when pouring to avoid waste caused by pouring too fast.

3. Reduce the contact between wine and air, which can inhibit the volatilization of Moutai’s aroma after opening the bottle.

5. Prevent backflow and increase the difficulty of counterfeiting. The odor is blocked by the master, and it is difficult for fake wine to be poured directly into it.
