What to do if the car is running for a long time and the fuel consumption is high? Why is the chassis of the old car loose?

Anything will become worse after a long time of use, such as a car. After a car has been driven for a long time, its parts will be more or less worn out. For example, there will be various faults, abnormal noises, serious fuel consumption, loose chassis, etc. So what should we do?

What should I do if my car consumes more fuel after driving it for a long time?

The fact that vehicles are becoming more and more fuel-consuming is not necessarily due to the age of the vehicle. It may also be due to the fact that the vehicle has not been maintained in time, the air filter and throttle are too dirty, there is serious carbon deposit in the combustion chamber, the oxygen sensor is not working properly, etc., which leads to increased fuel consumption and emission pollution. First, you can check the working condition of the spark plugs regularly. If there is ablation or the gap is too large, it should be replaced in time, and the carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, intake valve, throttle and other parts should be cleaned as appropriate. Then, the diagnostic computer reads the air-fuel ratio, injection pulse width, water temperature sensor and other related data streams, and comprehensively analyzes whether the engine is in good working condition.

Secondly, check whether the gearbox oil volume is sufficient and whether the oil quality is normal. Add or replace the gearbox oil as appropriate, and test whether there is any abnormal delay in gear shifting through a test drive. If there is any abnormality, repair the gearbox in time.

The high fuel consumption of a vehicle is not only affected by the road conditions, but also by the abnormal engine and gearbox control system, which causes insufficient power and poor acceleration, which will also lead to increasing fuel consumption. Therefore, the vehicle should be regularly maintained and inspected according to the instructions in the manual to keep the vehicle in good performance, and the fuel consumption can generally be kept within the normal range.

Why is the chassis of old cars loose?

Rubber parts damaged

Chassis suspension, such as the upper and lower arms, have rubber sleeves, which will crack with use, greatly reducing the shock absorption effect. Many rubber sleeves have oil inside, and when they crack, the oil leaks out, and the shock absorption effect is naturally much worse.

The shock absorber has failed

Four self-test methods:

1. Press the bumper hard and then release it, if the car jumps 2-3 times, it means the shock absorber is working well.

2. When the car is driving slowly and emergency brakes are applied, if the car vibrates violently, it means there is a problem with the shock absorber.

3. The car body shakes violently when turning or braking while driving, which proves that the shock absorber is suspected to be ineffective.

4. If you see the oil seal gasket and sealing gasket are broken or damaged, and the oil storage cylinder cover nut is loose, it means the shock absorber is ineffective.

Do I need to change the spark plugs after driving the car for a long time?

Of course spark plugs need to be replaced after being used for a long time.

The main function of the spark plug is to ignite the mixture in the cylinder. If the spark plug is not replaced according to the replacement cycle for a long time, problems such as ignition difficulty, idle jitter, and weak acceleration will occur.

The spark plugs of a car are consumable parts. It is better to replace them after a certain mileage. It would be uneconomical to lose the big picture for the small one.

If the spark plug is made of nickel, the recommended replacement period is about 40,000 kilometers. Spark plugs made of platinum or iridium can be replaced after 80,000 kilometers.
