What should I do if my driving test is due during the epidemic? Can I postpone my driving test if it expires during the epidemic?

We all know that the driver's license test is a common test, and many people will take it, especially young office workers. The time for the driver's license test is limited, generally three years. So what should I do if the driver's license test time expires during the epidemic? Let's take a closer look!

What to do if your driver's license test expires during the epidemic

1. In order to reduce the risk of cross-infection and prevent the spread of the epidemic, some places have suspended driver examination services.

2. For the suspension of driver examinations, the Public Security Traffic Management Department will cancel all scheduled examination sessions and adjust the examination plan in a timely manner according to the epidemic prevention and control situation, and postpone the examination business. The cancellation of the examination appointment will be notified to the applicant through the "Traffic Management 12123" mobile phone APP message, SMS, announcement, etc.

3. For areas where driver examinations have not been suspended, you can also choose to cancel your examination appointment and postpone the examination.

4. If a scheduled examination session is cancelled, it will not be counted in the number of examinations, nor will it affect the next examination appointment schedule.

Will the driver's license learning period be extended during the epidemic?

At present, the learning period for a driver's license is three years. If you fail all the exams within three years, you will be disqualified. Therefore, the traffic control office will also extend the learning period for a driver's license according to the epidemic situation.

For students whose "Learning Driving Certificate" expires between January 23, 2020 and April 30, 2020, the traffic management department platform will uniformly extend the validity period of the "certificate" by 3 months.

The learning driving certificate mentioned here refers to the learning driving certificate issued on the same day after passing the first subject test for the first application for a motor vehicle driver's license or application to add a qualified vehicle type.

During the new coronavirus epidemic, driving tests have been cancelled across the country during this period, and the time of the driving tests will be readjusted according to the epidemic situation.

For candidates who have already successfully made an appointment, their appointment will be cancelled and it will not be counted in the number of exams taken. It will not affect the appointment order for the next exam, so there is no need to worry.

How many years is the driving test period?

3 years, starting from the issuance of the learner driving certificate, that is, from the time you pass the subject one test.

The law clearly stipulates that if you do not complete the test within three years, all the scores of the subjects you have passed will be invalidated. If you still need to take the driver's license test, you need to re-register and retake all the subjects, which means starting from scratch.

For those who apply for a motor vehicle driver's license for the first time or apply to add a permitted vehicle type, the vehicle management office shall issue a learning driving certificate within one day after passing the first subject test. For those who take the test directly through self-study, the vehicle management office shall also issue a special learning driving mark in accordance with regulations. The learning driving certificate can be in paper or electronic form, and paper learning driving certificates and electronic learning driving certificates have the same effect. Applicants can print or download learning driving certificates through the Internet Traffic Safety Comprehensive Service Management Platform.

Can the driving test time be extended after it expires?

The time cannot be extended. If you fail to pass all the driving tests within the validity period of the admission certificate, the passed scores will be invalidated and you must start the test from the beginning. You cannot apply for an extension of the validity period of the admission certificate.

According to the Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses, Article 32:

For those who apply for a motor vehicle driver's license for the first time or apply to add a qualified vehicle type, the vehicle management office shall issue a driving skills qualification certificate within one day after passing the first subject test.

The driving skills qualification certificate is valid for three years, and the applicant must complete the test for subjects 2 and 3 within the validity period. If the test is not completed within the validity period, the scores of the subjects that have been passed will be invalidated.
