How many weeks is the best to do cardiac ultrasound

As we all know, during the development stage of the fetus, as the fetus grows and develops, each organ of the body gradually improves. This is a very normal process. Fetal heart ultrasound is to check the development of the fetus. So, at what week is it best to do a fetal heart ultrasound? Let's find out.

At what week is it best to do a fetal heart ultrasound?

Generally speaking, when doing B-ultrasound screening for fetal abnormalities around 22 weeks and 30 weeks, you need to pay attention to the baby's heart condition. If you only do one B-ultrasound, then any time between 22-28 weeks is fine, and you can see it clearly. Today's B-ultrasound is dominated by four-dimensional color ultrasound. The difference between three-dimensional color ultrasound and four-dimensional color ultrasound lies mainly in the "time dimension". In other words, three-dimensional color ultrasound is a photo, which is static, while four-dimensional color ultrasound is a video, which is dynamic. It can allow expectant mothers to see a series of movements of the fetus, so the four-dimensional view will be clearer and clearer. Three-dimensional color ultrasound is only a photo at a certain point in time, while four-dimensional color ultrasound can be made into a continuous video like a DV and can be burned to a disc.

Three-dimensional color ultrasound and ultra-high-definition four-dimensional color ultrasound have the same effect of diagnosing fetal abnormalities, but ultra-high-definition four-dimensional color ultrasound is more accurate. Three-dimensional color ultrasound focuses on observing whether the internal organs are abnormal and eliminating structural abnormalities. The four-dimensional color ultrasound can also observe whether the motor nerve system is normal and whether the movement is harmonious.

B-ultrasound is actually black and white, while 3D and 4D color ultrasound can be beige when producing 3D and 4D images. It is not the case that B-ultrasound is colorful. It is called B-ultrasound because it uses colorful colors to indicate the values of heart, blood and other indicators.

The images of 3D and 4D color ultrasound are converted in the later stage. It does not mean that the observed images are 3D or 4D. They are just observed with ordinary B-ultrasound, and then the observed 2D images are converted into 3D or 4D stereoscopic images through the conversion tools in the instrument. To put it more directly, if you install similar software on your desktop computer, you can also convert ordinary B-ultrasound images into 3D ones at home.

How to read 3D color Doppler ultrasound data information

Pregnant mothers are not specialists and do not understand various professional terms, so they do not know how to read the 3D color ultrasound test report. The following is an example of the normal range of some values in the B-ultrasound report for your reference.

Fetal position: The fetal position is LOA, cephalic position, that is, the baby's head is facing downwards, which is the best and suitable fetal position for normal delivery. It is actually said as "left occipital front".

Placenta thickness: Placenta thickness close to 2.5--5cm is normal. The location of the embryo is on the "right wall of the uterine fundus", which is also a normal location.

Placental maturity: Generally, it is 0 degrees before 30 weeks of pregnancy; it reaches 1 degree during 30-32 weeks of pregnancy; it reaches 2 degrees during 33-36 weeks of pregnancy; and it reaches 3 degrees after 36 weeks of pregnancy. The higher the degree of myopia, the more perfect the fetus is.

The dark area (deep layer) of amniotic fluid is close to 3-7cm and is considered normal.

A fetal heart rate of 159 beats/minute is close to 120-160 beats/minute and is considered normal.
