Can well water be used for hydroponics of green radish? How can green radish take root and sprout quickly in hydroponics?

The green radish is a very common green plant that grows vigorously and is easy to survive. The green radish can be planted in soil or in water. Put a branch of the green radish in water and wait for it to take root. Then can well water be used for the water culture of green radish?

Can well water be used for hydroponics of green radish?

You can use well water.

You can use tap water, well water or mineral water to feed the green radish, but the water should be left for a day or two before using it. It is recommended to use tap water or well water, as mineral water lacks certain minerals and is not conducive to the growth of plants. Purified water has basically no nutrients and is not good for the growth of hydroponic plants, so it is not recommended.

When you stop watering plants in the summer, the water temperature is relatively low to prevent the plants from getting sunburned. Also, if you see the water in the vase becomes turbid or yellow every once in a while, you should change the water in time.

In winter, we grow hydroponic green radish indoors. The water pumped up from the ground usually maintains a certain temperature and is not too cold. At this time, we may be able to change the water for the green radish directly at noon.

How to make the green radish grow roots and sprouts quickly through hydroponics

1. First, select a 20-centimeter-long stem of green radish and cut it into pieces as cuttings. The cross section should be smooth and have an inclined surface.

2. Place the cuttings in a bottle of clean water and cover it with a plastic bag to maintain humidity and promote rooting of the green radish.

3. Place the hydroponic green radish in a semi-shaded place indoors and change the water regularly. It will take about a month for the plant to take root and sprout new buds.

The cuttings of Pothos should be placed at 25 to 30° and with higher air humidity.

If the hydroponic green radish is placed in a location with poor light, it will not be easy for it to take root. It must have scattered sunlight and the temperature must not exceed 30° and not be lower than 15°.

Why doesn't the hydroponic green radish take root?

temperature

The best season for hydroponics is late spring and early summer, and the most suitable temperature is 20-30 degrees. After the beginning of autumn, when the temperature is cool, hydroponics will be easy to take root naturally.

No aerial roots

When choosing branches for hydroponic green radish, be sure not to choose the smooth ones. Choose the ones with raised bumps on the joints of the branches. These bumps are aerial roots, which will grow into white aquatic roots after being cultivated in water for a period of time. The smooth branches are difficult to take root, or may not even take root, and it is best for them to rot directly.

Water Quality

Tap water can be used to grow green radish, but it is best to leave it for 1-2 days before use. If you use it for hydroponics without leaving it for a while, it will affect the rooting of the green radish.

In the early stage of hydroponics, you must pay attention to changing the water. It is best to change the water with fresh water every 3 days. If the water is not changed for a long time, the culture water will become deteriorating and smelly, and the green ivy will naturally not be able to grow roots.

illumination

The hydroponic green radish cannot be exposed to direct sunlight or placed in an overly dark place, otherwise its roots will be affected; the best hydroponic environment is a ventilated, cool place with bright scattered light, where the green radish can effectively carry out photosynthesis without being sunburned due to excessive light or a sudden rise in water temperature.
