The cat's neck was bitten and turned into ringworm. What's going on? Cats have ringworm. How to deal with it?

Ringworm is not a serious disease, but it takes time to treat, several months or half a year, and it is a very troublesome disease. So once you find your cat has symptoms of ringworm, treat it immediately. The earlier the treatment, the easier it is. Pay attention to hygiene and avoid fungal infections, otherwise the cat's ringworm will spread and become more and more serious.

My cat's neck was bitten and turned into ringworm. What happened?

Ringworm is a common skin disease in spring and summer. Many cats have it or have had it before. Most cat owners who keep cats for the first time may think that ringworm is difficult to treat.

In fact, ringworm is not really a disease and does not affect the cat itself.

But if it is not treated, it will become more serious and can be transmitted to humans.

Ringworm is highly contagious and can be transmitted to the owner or other cats if you are not careful.

Therefore, when a cat gets ringworm, the first thing to do is to isolate it and avoid contact with cats.

You need to take good protection and then check the area of ringworm. You can use ultraviolet light or Wood's lamp to find it. If it is mild, it is usually treated with ointment, such as clotrimazole cream and terbinafine hydrochloride cream.

How to use: Shave the hair on the affected area, wipe off the dandruff and scabs on the skin, and then apply ointment

Tips for dealing with ringworm on cats

Cat feces is something that most cats will encounter, especially some kittens who are not well prepared (commonly known as milk feces).

If your cat is bitten, first clean the wound with saline solution and then wipe it with iodine.

For the treatment of most cat scabies, I summarize a few points:

1. Most skin problems are caused by inadequate self-cleaning. Here we recommend taking a medicinal bath (currently the better ones such as Nafipu and Malaxi have good effects). Remember to blow dry your hair all over your body after taking a bath.

2. For stubborn ringworm in cats, we need to cooperate with drug treatment such as ivermectin, avermectin, doramectin, etc. for subcutaneous injection. Please refer to the instructions for details (if you are not sure, please consult me). Oral itraconazole is also recommended.

3. Skin problems indicate that the skin's immunity is reduced. We should improve nutrition appropriately. Supplement with vitamin B complex, vitamin C, calcium and other trace elements.

Starting from these three aspects, most skin diseases can be cured!

How old can a cat be vaccinated?

Kittens should be vaccinated for the first time at least 60 days old. Before 60 days old, the mother's milk contains maternal antibodies that can protect kittens from viral infection. Around 60 days old is the critical value. After 60 days old, the content of maternal antibodies is too low to protect kittens. Therefore, vaccination is required (if the vaccine is given before 60 days old, the vaccine will neutralize the maternal antibodies. At this time, the vaccine will not only fail to protect the kitten, but also make it easy to be infected by external viruses).

Administer a triple vaccine (to prevent rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and leukopenia) once at 60 days of age, and give an additional vaccination 3-4 weeks later.

Rabies vaccine can be given to children over 4 months old, once a year.
