Can induced labor be performed if the placenta is low at 3 months?

Many expectant mothers encounter many complicated problems during pregnancy, such as low placenta. Many expectant mothers will be very anxious when they encounter this problem in the third month of pregnancy, which makes their mood worse. So, can an induced abortion be performed if the placenta is low in the third month? What are the reasons for a low placenta?

Can induced abortion be performed if the placenta is low in 3 months?

After 28 weeks of pregnancy, the embryo of the pregnant woman adheres to the lower part of the uterus, and the outer edge of the embryo even reaches or covers the internal os of the cervix. Its position is smaller than the presenting part, which is called "placenta previa". When the pregnancy is less than 28 weeks, this condition is diagnosed as "placenta previa". If the placenta is low in position, induced abortion can usually be performed. If the pregnancy lasts more than three months and there is no plan to have a child, induced abortion should be considered. However, if the placenta is previa, the risk of induced abortion is very high, and a thorough assessment should be made as to whether to perform induced abortion or a mini-cesarean section to terminate the pregnancy.

Why does a pregnant woman have a low placenta?

1. Endometrial degeneration in the uterine body

For example, puerperal infection, multiple births, multiple curettages and cesarean sections can easily cause endometritis or uterine wall damage, resulting in incomplete development of the deciduous blood vessels in the uterus. When the sperm and egg combine and embed, the blood demand is insufficient, and the fetus expands the embryo area in order to absorb enough nutrients, causing it to stretch to the bottom of the uterus and thus causing the embryo to be low-lying.

2. The total area of the embryo is too large

If it is a twin embryo, the total area will be larger than that of a single fetus, thus reaching the lower uterus of the expectant mother, and the incidence of placenta previa in twins is twice as high as that in a single fetus.

3. Abnormal embryo

For example, in the case of accessory placenta, the main embryo is in the body of the uterus, while the accessory placenta may be located below the uterus near the internal os of the cervix.

4. Sperm-egg combination trophoblast language development delay

When the sperm and egg combine and reach the uterus, those that have not yet developed to the stage where the embryo can implant will continue to migrate downward to the bottom of the uterus and implant the embryo before the development stage occurs at this point.

In fact, low placenta is a very common phenomenon. Many pregnant women encounter this problem. This problem should indeed be taken seriously, but there is no need to be too anxious and worried. As long as you adjust well and go to the hospital for prenatal check-ups regularly, I believe that there will be no very serious problems. Expectant mothers should also maintain a happy mood and deal with it with a normal mental state.
