Some symptoms on human skin are more obvious and easier to detect. In daily life, we often notice some abnormal conditions on our skin. Some people notice a lump of flesh on their buttocks, but they don’t know what causes it. So, what is a lump of flesh on the butt? What causes it? Let’s take a look below.

What is the meat pimple on the butt?

Generally speaking, there are many cases where a lump of flesh grows on the buttocks, and the possibility of folliculitis is relatively high. This requires timely anti-inflammatory treatment, and attention should be paid to prevent external spread, and medical treatment should be sought promptly.

Symptoms of Folliculitis

Rash, itching or mild pain

Folliculitis is common in adults. It is often seen on the head, neck, buttocks and vulva. Active itching or mild pain, generally without systemic symptoms. The rash initially appears as pinpoint red follicular papules, which gradually turn into miliary pustules with hair surrounding the center and inflammatory redness around them. Most of the pustules appear in batches and combine with each other. After the abscess bursts, a small amount of thick blood is discharged and forms a yellow scab. The disease heals as soon as the scab falls off without leaving any scars.

Hard knot

Generally, folliculitis can recur and cause chronic folliculitis, which occurs on the face. The lesions are papillary hyperplasia or scar nodules, which are not easy to heal. Folliculitis tends to develop superficially and can cause inflammation around the hair follicles, which is called furunculosis. Multiple and recurrent furuncles are called furunculosis. Severe patients may also have symptoms of fever, headache, and even sepsis or septicemia. If the boils located on the nose and lips are squeezed, purulent thrombophlebitis and other symptoms may occur.

Causes of Folliculitis

Pyogenic Gram-negative bacilli

If the purulent Gram-negative bacteria invade the area around the hair follicles, inflammation will occur in the hair follicles and other places. This is what we often call folliculitis in our daily life. The cause of purulent Gram-negative bacteria infection is closely related to facial cleanliness.

If you don't pay attention to skin cleaning and don't take a bath for a long time, it will cause skin infection, which will cause folliculitis. In addition, damage caused by stretching, friction, and scratching of the hair may also lead to infection.

In addition, daily skin soaking, local sealing bandage and use of corticosteroids can also cause folliculitis. Especially some people with decreased immunity and diabetes should be more alert as they are very susceptible to folliculitis. It is best for these patients to go to the hospital for regular check-ups.
