Purple tongue in women

Abnormal color of the mouth includes black tongue, which is mainly caused by the proliferation and darkening of the tongue flocculent papillae. There are lighter colors such as brown-black, gray-black, burnt black and even black. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that if a patient has this kind of tongue coating, the disease must be of a long duration and the disease is very complicated and serious. A white tongue often indicates a cold. A thin and slippery tongue indicates wind-cold, while a thick, white and slippery tongue indicates damp-cold or cold phlegm. So what causes a woman's tongue to turn purple?

What causes a purple tongue?

Congestion tongue: There are scattered purple-black spots or petechiae on the tongue or around the tongue. This condition reminds the body that there is "blood stasis". People with congestion have slower blood flow in their bodies, and in some parts of the body the blood may even stagnate completely. When we eat, we may accidentally bite the edge and tongue of the tongue; when people are sick, the elasticity of blood vessels increases, and sometimes the blood vessels on the tongue are inadvertently scraped. The tongue is more reactive and often bleeds more easily than other areas of the body, making it more susceptible to petechiae or ecchymoses. Petechiae and ecchymoses on the tongue are also common in young women.

Cyanotic tongue: There are two types of cyanotic tongue: the entire tongue is cyanotic and the partly cyanotic. The so-called black tongue refers to the entire tongue covered with a uniform green or purple color, or purple with some cyan in the red (purple contains blue), or light red with some cyan (blue exceeds purple). The so-called partial cyanosis appears on the left or right side of the tongue, or on the upper and lower sides. There are one or two vertical cyanosis bands along the edge of the tongue and the central groove of the tongue; or there are only cyanosis spots and soft spots, while no cyanosis can be seen on other parts of the tongue.

When there are a lot of waste products in the blood, the body is insufficiently hydrated, or you suffer from hyperlipidemia, the viscosity of the blood will increase, leading to poor blood circulation, causing a cyanotic mouth reaction.

People with purple lips usually also have symptoms such as stiff shoulder muscles, back pain, and menstrual pain. If there are purple spots on the mouth, it means that blood vessels at a certain point in the body are blocked, causing poor blood circulation.

An increase in blood cell concentration can make the venous blood appear darker blue. In addition, the oxygen-deficient blood of patients with increased blood cell count is more likely to cause a purple tongue than the oxygen-deficient blood of anemic patients.
