The chance of yolk sac pregnancy arrest is small

The chance of yolk sac pregnancy arrest is small

Generally speaking, more than a month after a successful pregnancy, pregnant women can see the yolk sac, fetal heartbeat, fetal bud and fetal heart rate by seeing a doctor for an ultrasound examination. Of course, some expectant mothers need to wait until later to see them. Fetal arrest means that the fetus has already stopped growing and developing, but the test tube embryo still needs to be grown, so is the probability of yolk sac fetal arrest small?

Is there a small chance of yolk sac pregnancy arrest?

The presence of yolk sac during early pregnancy does not mean that the test tube embryo is developing normally. The presence of yolk sac only means that the woman is already pregnant, and it does not mean that the fetus will not grow. This situation also has the possibility of fetal growth retardation. But generally speaking, in clinical medicine, the probability of fetal growth retardation during pregnancy is extremely low, and the probability of yolk sac fetal growth retardation is also low.

Symptoms of post-yolk sac fetal arrest

Fetal growth retardation with yolk sac is different from miscarriage. It refers to the situation that although the yolk sac is seen during examination, the fetus has stopped growing and developing, but it is not discharged from the body in time. Therefore, fetal growth retardation is also called "missed abortion." The symptoms of yolk sac pregnancy mainly include the following:

1. When the mean gestational sac diameter is ≥25 mm, no fetal bud or fetal heart can be seen.

2. When the head-to-hip diameter is ≥7mm, no fetal heartbeat is detected.

3. For gestational sac with yolk sac, no test tube embryo and fetal heartbeat are seen after 11 days or longer.

Generally speaking, medical technology is more advanced nowadays, and with the improvement of people's living standards, the nutrition supplement for expectant mothers is more abundant, and the phenomenon of fetal growth retardation occurs very rarely. However, less occurrence does not mean that it will not occur. Expectant mothers should still do relevant prenatal examinations during pregnancy to keep abreast of the baby's growth and development.
