Women experience urethral pain when urinating

Urine is the main channel for the body to excrete waste and metabolite. After the kidneys convert it into urine, it will immediately enter the bladder through the urethra, taking away unnecessary waste in the kidneys. For a healthy adult, under normal eating and drinking conditions, the frequency of urination is maintained at about 4-6 times a day, and the urine appears transparent or light yellow. Once abnormalities occur in the human body, urine will also change. Especially when there is a problem with the urinary system, there will be obvious abnormalities in urination immediately. For example, pain when urinating is one of the signals. So what is the reason for urethral pain in women when urinating?

1. Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a urinary tract infection caused by Chlamydia, mainly characterized by purulent infection and belongs to the category of genital tract infection. Its prevalence ranks second among genital tract infections in my country. Generally, the dangerous period of subacute gonorrhea is about 2 to 10 days, with an average of 3 to 5 days. Its clinical symptoms include purulent secretions from the private parts, stinging pain during urination, and symptoms of urethritis. Especially for female gonorrhea patients, 70% of them have symptoms of urethritis.

2. Non-chlamydial urethritis

This disease refers to the symptoms of urethritis caused by pathogens other than chlamydia, including mycoplasma positivity, urea-degradable chlamydia, etc. The critical period of this disease is about 1-3 weeks on average, and about 50% of patients experience symptoms such as urinary pain and urethral itching. Some female patients may also experience symptoms such as vaginal and vulvar itching, lower abdominal discomfort, etc.

3. Cystitis

The bladder is the place where urine is stored in the body. If you have the habit of holding your urine for a long time, the urine may produce a large number of bacteria here, which will lead to bladder infection and cause cystitis symptoms. In addition, once the urethra is infected with bacteria, it may also travel back to the bladder and cause infection. When the patient is urinating, a large amount of bacteria in the bladder will immediately irritate the urethra in the urine, causing burning and painful urination. After urinating late, there will be symptoms such as lower abdominal pain.

4. Prostatitis

The male prostate is one of the most important sex hormones in the male body. In addition, the semen it metabolizes is also a key component of male semen. When men develop prostatitis, the pressure on the posterior urethra will increase dramatically, causing the muscle capacity of the posterior urethra of the prostate to increase. Urine may flow back into the prostate. At this time, the high uric acid in the penis will cause a chemical irritation, leading to symptoms such as urinary pain and groin pain.

5. Pyelonephritis

Pyelonephritis is an actual inflammation of the renal pelvis and kidney caused by pathogenic microorganisms. It is usually accompanied by varying degrees of urinary tract infection in the early stages of the disease. Especially patients with subacute pyelonephritis are prone to symptoms such as fever, painful urination, frequent urination and urgency. Patients with chronic pyelonephritis are mainly characterized by bacterial urine infection and changes in renal function. In severe cases, they may even develop into chronic renal failure.
