Pregnant after having sex after menstruation

Pregnant after having sex after menstruation

Whether pregnancy is possible depends entirely on whether the sperm and egg can meet. Many people think that the period just after the menstrual period is an absolutely safe period because it has not yet ovulated, so it is not easy to get pregnant. This concept is incorrect. Because whether a woman's egg cells are perfect and the time of ovulation are related to the growth rate of the egg and the length of the menstrual cycle.

The normal physiological cycle of women is 21-35 days, the menstrual period is 2-8 days, and the ovulation period is 14 days before the next menstruation. Assuming that your menstrual cycle is relatively short, about 21 days, and each menstrual period is relatively long, about 7-8 days, if you calculate according to the ovulation period 14 days before the next menstrual period, your ovulation period is exactly on the 7th day of the menstrual period, which is the time when the menstrual period is about to end. Having sex under this condition is equivalent to choosing to have sex after ovulation, and the chance of pregnancy is very high.

Except for women with short menstrual cycles and long menstrual periods, ovulation time will be advanced, and whether pregnancy is possible is also related to the survival time of male sperm. It is generally believed that men's sperm can survive in women's bodies for 3 days, and pregnancy is possible within 3 days of ovulation. However, studies have found that although sperm activity is relatively strong 3 days after intercourse and the probability of pregnancy is high, in fact, the survival time of male sperm is not as short as 3 days. Some can survive for 7 days or even longer. Think of it this way, even if you have sex a week before ovulation, you can still get pregnant.

When your menstrual cycle is 28 days (this is a relatively common physiological cycle), each time it comes for 7 days, your ovulation period happens to be on the 14th day of your menstrual cycle. If you have sex right after your period ends, that is, on the 8th day of your period, you can still get pregnant during ovulation, based on the one-week survival period of male sperm.

Therefore, the rhythmic period contraceptive method is not safe and many people have suffered from it. There is no absolute safe period, only a relative safe period. Even if the menstrual period has just ended, it is still possible to get pregnant. Don't take chances and use good contraceptive methods.
