What is the sign of numbness in a woman's left leg?

There are many reasons that cause numbness in our body, such as poor blood circulation, nerve compression, and even cervical spondylosis can cause numbness in the thigh. If we cannot confirm the type of disease, we can only go to the hospital for examination. Through medical equipment, we can check our nervous system, bones and other problems, so that we can receive targeted treatment and restore health.

Limb numbness refers to the loss of sensation in the limbs. The causes of the disease include limb numbness due to nutritional deficiency and metabolic disorders, toxic neurological numbness, neuritis numbness caused by infection, acute multiple radiculitis numbness, spinal bone hyperplasia numbness, myelopathy numbness, arteriosclerosis numbness, and autonomic nervous system dysfunction numbness.

1. Limb numbness due to nutritional deficiency and metabolic disorders: The patient may have a long history of gastrointestinal dysfunction, indigestion, or severe nutritional deficiency. The above diseases lead to severe deficiency of B vitamins in the patient's body, causing numbness of the limbs.

2. Toxic neurological numbness: The patient may have a history of long-term contact with heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, lead or organophosphorus, or pesticides, as well as chemicals such as furans and isoniazid. This type of chemical can cause toxic neuritis, in which numbness of the distal limbs may occur in the early stages of the disease, often accompanied by pain and a tingling sensation on the skin.

3. Neuroinflammatory numbness caused by infection: This is due to the direct invasion of the nervous system by neurotoxins secreted by bacteria or viruses, causing numbness of the skin. This type of disease mainly includes diphtheria neuritis, leprosy neuritis, etc., which are manifested by numbness and loss of limb sensation.

4. Acute multiple radiculitis and numbness: The patient first presents with fever, similar to the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, and symmetrical numbness of the distal limbs appears 1-2 months later. At the same time, limb weakness occurs, and in severe cases, paralysis and difficulty breathing may occur.

5. Spinal bone hyperplasia numbness: This type of numbness is quite common among the elderly. The main reason is that vertebral bone hyperplasia compresses the nerves in the spinal canal. Some patients may also experience limb pain and other sensations.

6. Myelopathy-induced numbness: In the early stages of certain myelopathy, numbness of the limbs may occur from the bottom to the top. As the disease worsens, the numbness may develop upward, and symptoms such as difficulty in limb movement may appear.

7. Arteriosclerotic numbness: It is more common in elderly people suffering from cerebral arteriosclerosis. Due to ischemia of brain tissue, especially the cerebral cortex, functional disorders occur in the sensory and motor centers of the brain, leading to numbness of the limbs in the corresponding parts. This type of numbness is mostly characterized by numbness of one upper limb or lower limb or half of the body, which usually lasts for several hours to several days. If not treated in time, it will develop into hemiplegia.

8. Numbness due to autonomic dysfunction: The location of this numbness is usually not fixed and is wandering, sometimes light and sometimes heavy. Patients are often accompanied by symptoms such as anxiety, irritability, insomnia, nightmares, memory loss, palpitations, shortness of breath and general fatigue. Generally, they can heal themselves.
