Female back pain and swelling

Female back pain and swelling

As people get older, they pay more and more attention to their physical health. It is a common phenomenon for women to experience soreness on both sides of the back of the waist. When menstruation comes, the body will change and cause soreness on both sides of the back of the waist. Gynecological inflammation and urinary stones are also causes of soreness. If the waist pain lasts for a long time, it may be lumbar muscle strain, which can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine or Chinese medicine. What causes lumbar muscle strain?

1. Acute lumbar sprain is not treated in time or is improperly treated

If lumbar sprain is not treated thoroughly in the acute stage, the damaged muscles and fascia will not be repaired properly, resulting in more scars and adhesions, which will in turn reduce lumbar function and easily lead to lumbar muscle strain.

2. Cumulative damage

This is caused by prolonged and excessive activities of the waist, such as long-term sitting or standing by office workers. Generally, carrying too heavy goods can also cause lumbar muscle strain.

This kind of exercise keeps the psoas muscles in a high-tension stretching state for a long time. Frequent and severe stress will cause varying degrees of damage to the soft tissues around the waist, eventually leading to lumbar muscle strain.

3. Congenital malformation of lumbar spine

Common ones include lumbar sacralization (the 5th lumbar vertebra is fused with the sacrum to form a sacrum), sacral lumbarization (the 1st sacrum is separated from the sacral block to form the 6th lumbar vertebra), occult sacral bifida, etc., all of which can cause the muscles, fascia and other tissues to lack attachment points, resulting in structural instability. When activities are frequent or the load is heavy, lumbar muscle strain is likely to occur.

4. Climate and environmental factors

Chronic lumbar muscle strain has a certain relationship with climate and environment. Too low temperature or excessive humidity can trigger or aggravate lumbar muscle strain.

How to treat or relieve the soreness and swelling on both sides of the waist

If the soreness and swelling on both sides of the back of the waist is caused by lumbar muscle strain, it can generally be treated with local acupuncture, physical therapy, and massage. Apply hot compress to the waist before going to bed every night. The mattress should not be too soft when resting at night. Exercise to enhance the function of the waist and back muscles, avoid weight-bearing labor and long-term bending, and do not sit or stand for long periods of time.

If it is urinary tract stones or gynecological inflammation, go to the hospital for color ultrasound to determine the cause, and then give different treatments according to the different causes.
