What are the signs of varicose veins in women?

Varicose veins are a common disease. Generally speaking, varicose veins are an occupational disease. People with a higher incidence rate are teachers, nurses and other people who need to sit for a long time. After suffering from varicose veins in the legs, patients will feel very uncomfortable and have a great impact on daily life. Therefore, varicose veins need to be actively treated, and the earlier the treatment, the better. Knowing the signs of varicose veins before treatment can ensure early detection and early treatment.

Signs of varicose veins in women

1. There are pigmentation, itching and eczema on the skin of the lower leg and ankle.

Some patients may develop thrombophlebitis, with local redness, swelling, lumps and tenderness. Varicose veins can easily become damaged and bleed, or become infected and form ulcers, leading to varicose veins.

2. There are strange sensations in the limbs, such as chills or hot flashes. The affected limb becomes thinner and thicker, and the skin feels tingling, itchy, numb, and burning.

3. Extensive edema in both lower limbs and pain in the affected limbs, which is aggravated by movement and sometimes even when still, and worsens at night.

4. The temperature of the epidermis of the affected limb increases, and there is pain and tenderness. In addition, the toenails (fingernails) become thickened and deformed, and their growth slows down or stops.

5. Varicose veins: The superficial veins in the calf of the affected limb gradually become bulging and dilated, sometimes curling into balls or sacs, obviously protruding from the skin. The varicose veins are in balls or nodules, especially after standing, and disappear after raising the leg. Generally, there is less pain at this stage.

6. The surface blood vessels are varicose like earthworms, and there is a feeling of soreness and swelling in the legs, which is worse at night and lighter in the morning.

7. The skin is pigmented, dark in color, and desquamated. The affected limb is itchy and edema occurs in the feet and ankles.

Once some of the above phenomena appear in the early stage, we must pay attention to them and check and eliminate them in time!

How to treat varicose veins in women

Compression therapy: Wear elastic stockings or use elastic bandages to apply compression to reduce venous reflux and congestion. When purchasing medical elastic stockings, special attention should be paid to the fit. According to statistics in the United States, one-third of varicose vein patients wear elastic stockings that do not fit properly, so they are not only ineffective but also uncomfortable. It is best to wear it as soon as you get up in the morning, and not to wear it when you go to bed at night.

Sclerotherapy: Sclerotherapy is done by injecting sclerotherapy into the veins to destroy endothelial cells, causing vasospasm and inflammation, leading to the formation of blood clots and fibrosis, thus achieving the goal of eliminating varicose veins. Best used for dilation of small veins. Side effects include allergies, local pain, skin necrosis and pigmentation. If the sclerosant is accidentally injected into the artery, it may cause limb necrosis and amputation.

Traditional Chinese medicine therapy: This is also a varicose vein treatment method with relatively significant clinical effects. The varicose vein product Yihuoyuan uses drugs that clear the meridians to change the elasticity of the inner wall of the blood vessels, quickly repair damaged valves, and gradually shrink and smooth the protruding and cord-like blood vessels, which can fundamentally regulate the body's functions.
