How long can you live with fallopian tube cancer?

When talking about cancer, everyone feels very scared. Because most cancer problems not only affect the patient's physical health, but these cancers may also be malignant tumors, which can also threaten the patient's life. Fallopian tube cancer is also a cancer problem that can occur in women. So how long can women live after suffering from fallopian tube cancer?

How long can you live with fallopian tube cancer?

Fallopian tube cancer is a rare genital cancer that occurs only in women. The incidence of this cancer accounts for 0.5%-1.8% of female reproductive tract malignancies. The most common age is 40-60 years old, 2/3 of cases occur after menopause, and 1/3 occur during menopause. The cause of the disease is still unclear, and most scholars believe that the onset of fallopian tube cancer may be related to chronic inflammatory stimulation. Because primary fallopian tube cancer is difficult to diagnose in the early stages, the prognosis is extremely poor, with a 5-year survival rate of approximately 21%-44%.

Treatment of fallopian tube cancer

The treatment principle of fallopian tube cancer is mainly surgery, assisted by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. For this cancer, the thoroughness and planning of the first treatment should be emphasized. The scope of surgery should include total hysterectomy, bilateral adnexectomy and omentum resection. If the tumor has spread to the pelvic or abdominal cavity, it should be treated as epithelial ovarian cancer, with the largest possible tumor removal, tumor reduction, and pelvic lymph node resection. Postoperative chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used.

Because it is rare and easily overlooked, the fallopian tubes are located in the pelvic cavity and are difficult to palpate, the examination is difficult to be accurate, the symptoms are not obvious, the preoperative diagnosis rate is extremely low and it is often misdiagnosed. Examination and clinical manifestations can help to confirm the diagnosis.

For female friends, prevention is worse than cure. If you want to avoid serious diseases like fallopian tube cancer, you must start with your daily living habits. Avoid staying up late and eating junk food, and increase exercise to improve your body's immunity. If you unfortunately fall ill, you should seek medical attention in a timely manner and take appropriate treatment measures according to the condition of the disease.
