Can postpartum stretch marks be removed?

Many women will have obvious stretch marks during pregnancy. This is a very common situation. Generally, they can be faded after delivery. The severity of the stretch marks determines the removal method. Although there are many methods to remove stretch marks clinically, the removal effect varies from person to person, and some methods are not very effective. So, can stretch marks be removed after delivery?

1. After giving birth, many mothers are thinking about how to remove stretch marks, but unfortunately, stretch marks can only be lightened but not eliminated. Stretch marks are caused by the fact that the skin on the belly is under tremendous tension during pregnancy. When it can't withstand this tension, the elastic fibers in the dermis break. If this fiber is broken, it cannot be repaired. So during pregnancy, stretch marks may be lavender or pink. After giving birth, the stretch marks may gradually become lighter and turn silvery white, but it is impossible to eliminate them. If you do not want to develop stretch marks, you can only prevent them by controlling your weight ideally during pregnancy, gaining weight slowly and not excessively.

2. Stretch marks on the belly will increase rapidly as the pregnancy progresses and the embryo grows. During this process, the dermis will break and will be red in the early stage. As the baby is born and the belly relaxes, it will slowly turn from red to white. Removing stretch marks is a very difficult task medically. There is currently no particularly effective method, and the symptoms can mainly be improved through photoelectric therapy or mesotherapy.

3. For stretch marks, you can choose fractional laser, ion therapy, radio frequency, etc. for treatment, which has a certain epidermal exfoliation effect, and has a regenerative effect on the collagen in the deep dermis, and can restore the elasticity of the skin. For any stretch marks that appear, a professional doctor is required to evaluate and choose appropriate treatment methods. Generally, large public tertiary hospitals have already launched treatments such as ion surgery, fractional laser, radio frequency, intense pulsed light, etc., which are comprehensive and effective treatments for stretch marks.
