What are the dangers of women not eating meat for a long time?

In life, many women control their meat intake in order to lose weight. Some people are strictly vegetarian. However, from a nutritional perspective, not eating meat for a long time will have a relatively large impact on the body, because it also affects the body's absorption of other nutrients. Therefore, sometimes improper diet may cause certain diseases and affect people's physical health. So what are the dangers of women not eating meat for a long time?

1. Prone to lack fat-soluble vitamins

The so-called fat-soluble vitamins often refer to vitamins that dissolve in oily substances but are not easily dissolved in water. They often include vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin K, etc. At the same time, fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the liver, so people with liver disease often have vitamin deficiencies. Vitamin A deficiency can easily lead to decreased immunity, night blindness, and rough skin; vitamin E deficiency can easily lead to dry skin, pigmentation, and affected fertility; vitamin K deficiency can cause bleeding gums, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding; vitamin D deficiency can cause osteoporosis, rickets, excessive sweating, and waking up at night. Therefore, eating vegetarian food without eating meat for a long time or not paying attention to supplementing fats and oils is also a kind of damage to the body and may even cause disease.

2. Protein deficiency

It is an undeniable fact that there is also a large amount of protein in plant foods, such as soybeans, which are multi-protein foods. However, the protein in plants is far from meeting the needs of the human body. On the one hand, most plants contain incomplete proteins, such as the protein in wheat. On the other hand, the protein content in plants is insufficient, and the human body's absorption and utilization rate of plant protein is much lower than that of animal protein. Protein deficiency often occurs in adults and children. It can easily lead to low immunity, anemia, and edema. For children, protein deficiency can cause malnutrition, irritability, and impaired bone and intellectual development.

3. Susceptibility to stones

Vegetarians’ three meals a day are mainly plants, and plant foods usually contain oxalic acid, such as celery, spinach, bitter gourd, etc. Oxalic acid easily combines with calcium to cause the formation of stones. In addition, long-term vegetarian diet can cause vitamin A and vitamin E deficiency, which is also one of the causes of gallstone formation.
