Nipple bleeding

Nipple bleeding

The discharge of blood from a woman's nipples is a very dangerous symptom. This symptom is caused by the discharge of blood from the nipples and papilloma, which is a common nipple disease. It is more common in middle-aged female friends and requires timely surgical removal. In addition, breast hyperplasia can also cause the occurrence of papilloma. Everyone should understand how to deal with the discharge of blood from the nipples.

Nipple discharge of bloody or brown serous fluid is the characteristic of nipple discharge of intraductal papilloma of the breast: it accounts for about 80% of the patients who visit the hospital and is the main symptom of intraductal papilloma. Patients often find blood on their shirts inadvertently. Nipple discharge comes from the milk ducts and is spontaneous and often bloody or serous. According to statistics, bloody discharge accounts for 78% and serous discharge accounts for 22%. The secretions of young women are often serous, while those of elderly women are mostly turbid or milky. Because the tumor tissue is fragile and rich in blood vessels, slight squeezing can cause bleeding or rust-colored secretions, which is the most common cause of bloody milk discharge from intraductal papilloma.

reason

The cause of the disease is not very clear at present. Most scholars believe that it is related to low progesterone levels and increased estrogen levels, and is the result of abnormal estrogen stimulation. The cause is the same as cystic breast hyperplasia. Almost 70% of intraductal papilloma are a concomitant lesion of fibrocystic fibrosis.

examine

When the patient came to the hospital, he complained of intermittent discharge of bloody or brown serous fluid from the nipple. A small lump may be felt in the breast, which may shrink or disappear by squeezing out the fluid. During physical examination, a nodular mass with a diameter of about 1 cm can be felt in the areola, accompanied by tenderness. When checking, use the edge of your index finger to gently press along the direction of the milk duct, from the base of the breast toward the nipple, in a clockwise direction, to avoid missing symptoms or signs. Bloody or serous fluid may be seen flowing out from the corresponding nipple lactiferous opening. Based on these characteristics, clinical diagnosis is usually not difficult, and the above methods can be used to examine and confirm the diagnosis of suspicious cases.

Mitigation methods

1. Adequate nutrition to keep breast muscles strong and fat plump.

2. Pay attention to protect your breasts from accidental injuries.

3. Wear a soft bra that fits your breasts according to their condition, so that your breasts can have a beautiful appearance while being well fixed and supported.

4. Perform regular self-examination of your breasts, visit a specialist for regular physical examinations of your breasts, and take regular breast X-rays if necessary. If you feel unwell or discover any problems during examination, you should see a doctor promptly for early diagnosis and treatment of various breast diseases.
